Clothes for Engagement Pictures!

Clothes for Engagement Pictures!

I don't have anything to wear for our pictures on Monday. I just bought a new pair of Jeans on sale at Lord & Taylor. They are slightly flared. I know the skinny jeans are in style but they don't look great on my figure. I was going to wear nice heel boots underneath but I'm noticing all the boots out now are made to wear over your jeans. Now I am thinking maybe I should do that????

Ughhhh.... I recently lost some weight and I want to make sure whatever I wear makes me look slim.

The tops in style now are tricky because they are so big and loose.... any ideas?? I don't think I want to do leggings and a dress because I wear that all the time and sometimes my legs look funny in them.

Hmmm if you really want to stick with the new jeans there are boots out there. Have you tried Macys or DSW? What about a black blazer with a cute top underneath with jeans?

I just went shopping with one of my friends whose E-shoot is this weekend and we got her this really cute sweater dress with black leggings and the riding boots. She looked awesome.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I know, the sweater dresses are so cute. I just think my body type isn't flattered in them and I do wear them because they are so comfy but...maybe not for pics.

Do you think I should return the jeans and get straight leg with these boots out now? I'm always concerned they will accentuate my hips but maybe not.

My FH is probably going to wear jeans and a cream colored sweater. He looks good in anything, me on the other hand... it's a process!

I have to go back to Macys, I have a coupon. I was just there for dress shoes and didn't see anything else. I never seem to find anything at DSW.

Blazer sounds good.... I just feel like I don't know how to wear jackets like that anymore... do I tuck my shirt in underneath or do I wear a long shirt out underneath?

I think you should wear what you are most comfitorable in. You'll feel better taking pics if your not worrying about if you look good or not. So if it's leggings and a dress that you like to wear then do....either way you'll still look beautiful!

Try on a bunch of different options. If you want to do the skinny jeans with the riding boots then go for it. As for the shirt, I guess it depends what you wear. I saw a really nice gold layered tank top that would lay on the outside then you can pair that with the blazer. Check the I N C section. You can do a long shirt too but I think that would work best with a cotton type shirt only.

Thanks girls, I am waxing my eyebrows now...
Then, I can head over to Macys again.

Any other ideas please write. I usually like INC brand.

Personally, I wouldn't focus so much on what is currently in style. I would try not to wear anything very trendy since that tends to make the pictures look dated as trends change. It sounds like you have a good understanding about what type of clothing looks best on you. Go classic, that never goes out of style.

This makes perfect sense. I figured flare jeans with a heel boot would be classic, I was just thinking maybe that was 'out'...... plus, they don't make as many boots like that where they zip up to mid calf. When I was like 19 there were a million and 1 of those on the shelves. Anyway, I'm going to Macy's now (dreaded eyebrows are finally done) !!!!

I'll keep you all posted, thanks again

ITA! Good luck with the pictures. Just relax and enjoy it... my FH and I actually did a shot right beforehand to calm our nerves

I tried to wear something that would be timeless..Ours were during the summer so it was easier, black tank top with a timeless skirt and heels....Since it is getting cold it could be a little harder, but why not a cotton long sleeve v-neck with a jacket over it (blazer or even peacoat).... I would really go for simple timeless pieces...HTH

I was in your exact position a week ago! I was stressing about how my outfit would look and would it be 'current and in style' and I was also stressing over whether not I should change outfits too. In the end, I wore something that was very me and comfortable and classic so that it won't look dated 5-10 years from now. I wore dark jeans, a cream turtleneck sweater and a brown tweed coat. My jeans were skinny and I did buy a cute pair of boots to wear, but if you feel like they are not the right style of jean for your body, then don't fee like you have to wear them. As far as boots go, why not get a pair of the short boots, the booties that are really popular right now? They would fit perfectly under your jeans and if the jeans are long enough then you wont be able to tell if they are short or not. Good luck! I hope you find something that makes you feel comfortable and good!!
