a couple of weeks ago, i go to the smithaven mall and go into forever XX1 and buy a top. today, i go to return it, but i don't feel like going to lake grove, and i know there is one in the source...so i go there instead...well, aparently there is a difference between forever 21 and forever XX1...huh? they explained it to me that banana republic and the gap are owned by the same company but are two different stores, so you can't just exchange a gap shirt at BR...yes, i know that...they have DIFFERENT NAMES!!!!!!! but this was ridiculous...peed me off.
ETA: so i call customer service today to tell them about this aggrivating occurence and they tell me that...and catch this....it shouldn't matter, they changed their policy so that the exchanges are inter-related, meaning that you can exchange one item and whatever store!

What's the difference between Forever 21 and Forever XXI?
The gap & BR clearly have a different level of quality, does that go for these stores?

I'm sorry that this happened to you, but it's too funny because it happened to me too. It went something like this:
me: 'I need to return this jacket'
them: 'I'm sorry, you can't return this here. You bought it at Forever 21. We're XXI Forever.' (and it was said in a type of 'valley-girl' accent)
me: (thinking he HAS to be kidding) 'Are you serious? What's the difference?'
them: 'Well, our clothing is a little more upscale...'
MY A**! It's the SAME EXACT stuff- even has the same price tags!
I almost laughed in his face when he told me the 'we're XXI Forever' line.

i like forever 21 - but only for a quick item, ie - shirt for a party or bar, nothing that i will wear more then once. i don't spead a lot b/c i know it will fall apart right after i wear it. their 'return' policy SUX.
