HELP ! Never planned a wedding before and have NO idea what is reasonable and what is crazy expensive for things like:

you need to sit down with whom ebvery might help and chip in and see what you can afford. if you are doing it yourself then you need to look at a budget and take it from there! at time you will have to take and give depending on what you like... for instance if you like a dj but it's xxx amount of dollars and you really want him then you might be able to take from the favors and get something smaller! i hope that makes sence.. and good luck! the girls on here will help you when you need to make those tough decisions!

Oh I have the budget ! - I just don't know what these things are supposed to cost . - Just as an example - What is a reasonable price for a photographer ? $3-$5k ? - More ? Less ? I don't know !

for my dj we spent about 2,500, the photo was about 3,500 , the video was about 2,000 but like i said it's what you wan to spend on each, find the right package for you! you might find you can get what you want even by talking them down a little! i got some of that ant it was great the stuff i was able to get! good luck

those really depend on what you need..
with the dj, i got a DJ + MC for 5 hours for $1,050. (Vinny from High Voltage).... but for the same thing other dj's might charge upto 2,000......
for florist it really depends on what you need... like how many bouquets, corsages, etc.. also what type of centerpiece your looking for, and what other decorations for the hall.... I booked with (jack and rose) since they gave the lowest price, and seemed to know best about the flowers....(im getting 10 low centerpieces, mybok,1moh,2bm, a bunch of corsages and bouteneers, and other things for $1,000. but i know other florists quoted more..
for photo... there is a really big range.. all depends on how big an album you want, enlargements, parents albums, and price will vary by photographer... i Picked (pakten) and for $2,600. got a small album, 2parents albums, and a bunch of reorders....

The prices can really vary depending on the type of services you want, and how important each service is to you. You may want to allot more money for say, photography, if that is more important to you than the DJ or flowers.
Photography runs anywhere from $500-$2000, for a few hours with proofs only, and about $3000 and up for full coverage and albums. I found that the average for photography is about $3000.
DJ can run from $500-2000.
Flowers are tricky because it all depends on what you want, seasonal availability, size of the wedding, etc.

Basically, you're going to have to so some leg-work and comparrison shopping. That, and advice from this board, will be the best place for you to start. You mentioned that you already have a budget, which is great. Now you need to look at everything you will need for a wedding and prioritorize. It was really important for FH and I to have a band, which is obviously more expensive than a DJ, so we managed to find better (AKA: cheaper) vendors for things like photo/video (Duet) and my florist (a friend of mine). Picture your dream wedding and what's the most important aspects to you and your FH before you even start planning. Then you'll have a clearer idea of what you're after.
