clues to finding dress manufacturer

clues to finding dress manufacturer

Does anyone know any secrets on how to figure out what manufacturer makes a dress - based only on the vendor number at the bridal shop? I tried to find the tag- but, I know most bridal shops purposely remove them. I have been trying to find the dresses online based on using specific search requirements- no luck. Thanks!

Sorry I can't help you. All the places I went to had the tags on the dresses with the style #s and everything.

Did you ask the saleperson? Most of the bridal shops I went to told me who the designer was. I personally would not buy my dress from a shop who would not give out this info.

Maybe try asking the sales woman and see if she tells you or try to find similar styles in magazines and search online. Sorry I am not much help. All the shops I went to had the tags in the gowns and the salespeople told me the style name. Try and describe it in another store maybe they can tell you. Good Luck!

Do you have the Bridal Bargains book? They talk about each designer and rate them and also give you tips about shops that won't tell you the designer. Check it out!

If I were you I would just ask the salesgirl who makes the dress. If she pretends she doesn't know (we all know she does, how can she order the dress without knowing who designed it?) I would think twice about purchasing a dress from her. It is illegal for bridal shops to with-hold that information. I found that at all the shops I went to if the tags were replaced with store tags the salesladies told me who the designers were when I asked. This was a really big issue for me and I made sure the stores would be up-front about the designers before I tried anything on just to avoid the scenario of falling in love with a dress at a shop that engages in shady sales tactics! Check out the Bridal Bargains book website. They talk a lot about this issue.

Sorry, without the manufacturer, style # or sku # I can't help you. All the bridal salons I've been to in search for my gown have the tags in tact along with the style # or sku #.

I found a pic of my gown from the manufacturer's website after I had my contract written up to purchase it. After I'd purchased it and brought it home it still had the price tag, manufacturer's tag, etc. on it. Can you try to find out with the store manager for the manufacturer's name of the gown? It's your bridal gown and years from now people will wonder who the manuafacturer of it was. Many guests will compliment the gown and wonder will the manufacturer of it.

Good luck.

I agree call them and ask them. Tell them a close friend or sister lives out of town and you are going to visit her and want to show her the dress.
But, before that they should tell you. When I went looking they even wrote down for me. So when I return to order I didn't have to search again.

Re: clues to finding dress manufacturer

I found my BM dresses at a shop that removed the tags. I called the shop a few days later and told the salesperson that I wanted to find the dress online to show my bridesmaids who lived out of state (which is true). Since I then knew, I shopped around and finally ordered the dresses from RK Bridal in the city. They were about $70 cheaper per dress!
