Co-op Living- RANT RANT RANT

I have owned my co-op for 3 years and I have NEVER EVER had a problem with my neighbors or the board of directors or anything.

I had a problem with my nasty upstairs neighbors that I wasn't able to resolve on my own so I called the office to ask a question and was met with this:

The secretary of the management office happened to be 'looking thru the kitchen window and noticed that it looked new' (okay, thanks for invading my privacy). They came to do an inspection of my apt. and decided that my kitchen 'looked' renovated. Mind you they have NO PROOF that I renovated anything. I was told that my name has been added to the directors meeting and they will determine the 'course of action' and fine that I will need to pay.

STOP LOOKING IN MY WINDOWS CREEP-O!

An a side note, the nasties upstairs complained about us complaining and said: 'I don't think she (meaning me) works. I hear her sitting home all day crying and screaming b/c her husband beats her'.

WHAT THE F*&K?!?!? I work 12 hours a day 5 days per week and if my 'husband' beat me I would beat him back and it would be him that you hear crying not me

Ridiculous accusations!

Wow, obviously this person doesn't work or have a life! What do they gain from this? Does this person have a history of drama? Hopefully they do and they won't be taken seriously.


I used to live in a Co-op building when I lived at home with my parents and there was always drama.

it really depends on the Co-op.
I live in a building with lots of working couples..no one really gives you a hard time.
I had a problem with upstairs neighbor and they totally helped me (I resolved with neighbor in end).

My complaint with board is they are money hungry but that's all...

Not all co-ops are the same. And like I said. I NEVER EVER had a problem they even told me when I called that they had no idea who I was and they were shocked to pull my file and see I have owned for 3 years. That's how non-involved I am.

I'm thinking that the upstairs meanies have some sort of friendship with the secretary/manager lady (she also lives on site which I think is a little conflict of interest)

Don't be afraid fellow co-op owners. It's just a little annoying when people that they your business is their business.

I agree with the money hungry bit too.
And
They go on power trips...laughable

What happens now....that BOARD reviews me at the meeting next month that I am NOT ALLOWED to attend and then they decide the course of action.

And then I fight fight fight until I can afford to move out!!
