Co-op rant!

Co-op rant!

So we're working on an application for a co-op and they need a ridiculous amount of things! Reference letters, pay stubs, 3 months worth of statements! AH! The people at the management company are nasty and unhelpful and they come up with a million ways to charge you for every little thing. I know it'll be worth it in the end but it's been like 2 months now and I'm so tired of this process.

Rant over.

We went through the same thing. We bought a co-op last year. Well, our offer was accepted on Valentine's Day, and we moved in in ... JULY. It's a ridiculously long process, but so worth it! We have been here for about 6 months and we are so happy with our place. So keep on truckin' - it's totally worth it in the end! :)

Plus ... not having to shovel during all of the recent snow = fabulous!

That's crazy! I certainly hope it doesn't take that long, with the wedding soon and then the honeymoon. I was hoping we'd be all done by mid March at the latest.

I'm just tired of putting together all of the paperwork and talking to the mortgage people and the managing company. FH is doing school and I started the process so I'm basically doing it all by myself and I'm so over it.

We looked at one place in Glen Cove and they wanted 5 years worth of tax returns! Like two or three years I could see, but 5?

Luckily we didn't like the place that much anyway bc I wouldn't have known where to start looking for that.

Well we also had some issues with our sellers' sellers ... but still, even if we hadn't, we weren't approved by the board until the end of April ... and we started at the beginning of February ... so it's a long process, I think, no matter what.

BUT SO WORTH IT! You can get there!

We went through the same thing, it really is a pain. Just hang in there, it will be over before you know it and you can enjoy your new home.
