For those who purchased coops, how long did it take from the time you mailed the mortgage application until they gave a committment letter? The seller and his lawyer keep calling us, because they think it's taking too long, it's been 3 weeks since the mortgage co. received our application.

I'm not too sure either, but you should call the bank to make sure they are working on it and see how much longer it will take.

Nina, I'm pretty sure we had ours within a couple of weeks of handing in the application. If you haven't heard from them yet, give them a call, I'm sure they can give you an idea of when you could expect it.

I had my commitment letter that week. It took 3 months for me to close and move in from the time I mailed in my application. Hope this helps
