Co worker invites.

Co worker invites.

I'm inviting the majority of my co-workers to my wedding (about 13 people) with the exception of 3 people. As it was mentioned to me, It would be best it I just invited everyone, problem is the 3 people who I don't want to invite, 2 i'm not that close to and the 3rd I just don't get along with. Should I just invite them anyway? I don't know what to do. Any advice would be helpful.

Well my office is very small 5 other people. And I am inviting everyone. However at my last job there were definitely at least 2 people that I would not have invited. One woman and I dispised each other and the other I just couldn't stand.

NO its your day its your wedding why would you invite people that you dislike???

I only invited 3 people from my office my 2 supervisors and one girl that I am very close with

My rule was invite the boss, invite the people I spend time with outside the office.

The rediculous thing is that almost none of those people kept in touch with me after I quit that job anyway, so I shouldn't have invited ANY of them.

I'm in the same situation as well. I work in an office of 11 people and only 7 are being invited. If the other's questions me, I'm just going to let them know we had to make cuts somewhere.

I work in a small office about your size and I invited everyone just because I felt it was right; most everyone came and those who weren't able to come came to church, which was sweet. I made it clear that I didn't want anyone to feel obligated, but that DH and I would love them at our wedding. Most people commented on how thoughtful this was and everyone seemed to have a great time.

Edited to say that this was just me; not everyone I work with does the same thing but NO ONE should ever take it personally; you invite who you want because as another posted said: it's your day!

I would just give out a memo to everyone at the office that your inviting them to the ceremony, but your only have limited room or money for the guest you have aready that you can't bring everyone from work. Most people will understand. Then if you have a handfull of people just have to have come to the reception just give them the invite and keep it hush hush.

Thanks for all the advice. I just should have never mentioned to anyone exactly who I was thinking of inviting, i'm just going to send invites to the people I want to be there.

This is one of the most important days of your life. You don't need anyone in your space on that day that isn't wishing you well. If you don't care for the person, then it certainly doesn't make sense to pay for a plate for them....

If they don't get along with you, Why would they want to come anyway? I wouldn't expect an invite from someone I didn't like - I wouldn't go anyway - don't invite them!

Re: Co worker invites.

I work for a not-for-profit ageny. We have three offices, totalling 80 people (and with the exception of 3 new hires I know them all). There is NO way I can invite them all. In the actual office I work in, there are 35 people. Can't invite all of them either, not that I would even if I could because I just don't like some of them. I am trying to find a PC way to invite only some of the 35. Part of what I have been doing is telling everyone that will listen is that I can only afford to invite a certain number of people - which is a true statement because we are paying for the whole thing ourselves including the RD. I have also mentioned B-lists, and fished around for how people would feel if they couldn't bring their spouse.

I have decided that there are 5 people I work with that I would like to share my day. Two I have lunch with on a regular basis, two I socialize with outside of work (these two also happen to be dating, at the moment), and the other was my secretary until this past March when was forced to transfer to another office. That leaves my immediate supervisor, who has no social skills whatsoever, that probably expects to be invited, who I don't want to invite, the executive director (courtesy invite maybe), and 3 other married people I happen to like that would be a lot of fun - all of whom are on the B-list.

Then of course there is the part of me that says invite no one, and that way no one can get offended.

I have a departyment of like 30 people I really don't want to invite everyone, so i dont know how that's going to work out.

you should only invite the people you would hang out with outside of work. I manage 11 people, and I'm not inviting them all. Plus I'm not inviting ALL my bosses, just two. (I work for a financial institution and I have a number of VP's above me)

That is a tough one... i'd like to invite a bunch of them but it gets out of hand to invite so many of them. Besides happy hours etc.. I only hang out with 2 co-workers outside of the office. They will definitely be invited.. providing nothing changes by the time invites go out... then it is like a domino effect.. if you invite one person.. then you have to invite this person .. and then that person.. etc... so I don't know what I'm doing yet. It will either have to be just those 2 or like 12. I also don't want anyone to feel obligated to come either... Maybe I won't work there by then!!! That would make it so much easier!!

For me I am just inviting about 2 people from my job not including my boss.

I am kind of a private person and do want certain people to witness my sacred ceremony. The people at my job tend to talk TOOOOO much!!!!

Hopefully I will be gone from my job by the time the wedding comes arounds so that I woun't have to worry about certain people.
