Co-Worker Vent!!

Hi girls.....

I am so darn aggravated and hurt! THis girl I work with who I thought to be a good friend said some kind of remark to me today about 'I didn't know they made such small engagement rings, are you going to at least get a diamond wedding band?' So I was like, there is nothing wrong with the size of my ring (its 3/8 ct)...and I might get a nice 1/4 ct diamond band,, simply because we are not millionaires and have lots of stuff to pay (not the wedding---its a gift from my parents) She tries to act like she has more $$ then she does and has credit card payments from jewelry stores up the wazoo...and that comment just took the cake..my ring was given to me with love and I am honored to wear it on my finger...and its just very sentimental to me...I wouldn't have cared if it was a 1/8 ct or a 1/16 ct---as long as its mine and it helps to symbolize the love that we have between us...anyways, her stupid a** remarks are not going to dim the glow from my face when I think of my marriage and future...but she may have helped me make a cut out of my wedding guest list!!

Sorry, just had to get that out....I feel better now!!

Ew! What is wrong with people??? Who do they think they are??? You should backhand her with ur left hand - let the diamond leave a nice mark - and then say 'well I guess it was big enough to leave that!' - my my I think I have some pent up aggression in me!! Just don't let it get you down because I totally agree with you - it's not the ring size - it's the story behind it of how he proposed to you and now you wil be together throughout your lives! She just might be unhappy that she isn't in a loving relationship like you!!!

I can't believe she said that! How rude! Don't let her get you upset. You are right.....your ring is yours and you know that it was given to you with love. That's all that matters. She's probably just jealous.

Thanks you guys!! Maybe she is jealous because I have the love and she just has the ring....LOL..and I know her nose is out of joint because my parents are paying for it in its entirety...they would not have it any other way, where her parents said she was on her own...oh well...Iam better than her and I know it! Hahaha

What a RUDE and OBNOXIOS comment she made! The size of the diamond has NOTHING to do with the love the man who gave it to you feels. I know people who have huge rocks on thier finger, but the guy is a jerk or he cheats left and right (but I guess its ok because she has a 2 karat diamond??). If the man could afford to buy something big than so be it, but I think if a ring is going to send a couple broke, than its not worth it. When 2 people are planning a life together and they can use that money for a house or whatever, thats more important than buying a ring. I would say to this girl 'At least I dont have to buy my own jewlery!' This girl has serious self esteem issues if she feels she must show off to the world all her jewlery and cares what people think of her. At least you know you have a man who loves you and wants to spend a life with you. What does she have? I would NOT invite this woman to the wedding.

I want to backhand her for you!! That was so rude!! The size of the ring is not important, it is what it symbolizes that matters. I agree with JR, she is probably insanely jealous. I'm sure a b*tch like that can't find a man to give her any kind of ring at all. I'm sure if you talk about your wedding plans and how much you and your FH love each other it will make her crazy. Sorry, I am just being mean now, but I can't believe someone would say that. How shallow!

yup!! She is a B*tch!! She is married, but they are always fighting...she is so selfish...she cannot even decide if she wants kids because she does not want to have to stop going on vacations and buying jewelry....well if she cannot make that decision, she does not need to bring any children in the world...to me, thats being totally selfish if you balance a child with a vacation & jewelry!! How can people be so shallow????

They say your TRUE friends come out when you're planning your wedding - one of the happiest times in your life. Those who can't be completely happy for you just aren't worth it!!!!

And you don't even want to hear what a co-worker who I thought was a friend said about me two days AFTER my wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sounds like something that happened to a co-worker of mine. When she got engaged a few years ago, she was showing one of her clients her ring. The lady squinted her eyes and said'oh my, is there even a diamond in there?' People like that are just stupid, not worth even wasting your time worrying about.

how rude - i can't believe some people - i actually had a friend tell me my ring was nice but she would have wanted mroe diamonds (i got a single princess cut 1 1.4 ct.in a cathedral setting) so i know how you fell....screw her...its what the ring means thats way more important...we are on a budget too and i would rather have a slightly smmaller ring and live nicely than have a huge ring that i might lose and then there goes my future....
