Cocktail Hour Centerpieces?

Cocktail Hour Centerpieces?

What are you doing for cocktail hour centerpieces?
My florist quoted me $100 for 16 tables - each table will have a bud vase, one rose, 2 carnations.
Our hotel will provide votives.

Does this seem reasonable?
Do you think candles would be a better idea?

Thanks!

Talk to your RH, see if they cover the cocktail hour... why pay more if it'll be taken care of!
otherwise $100 isn't a bad price.

We aren't doing any centerpieces for cocktail hour. The tables are small and I feel like they always get crowded. It isn't worth the extra money to me. To be honest, thinking back to other weddings I have gone to I don't ever remember seeing flowers at cocktail hour (even though I know some people used them). My one friend spent so much extra to have red roses at every table and I don't even remember them! lol!

$100 per centerpiece for 3 flowers....that seems a little high, no?

Sorry, I think I read it wrong....it would come out $6.25 per centerpiece.....wooh....yeah...my bad.

Yup, it is 6.25 for the rental of the bud vase + 3 flowers.
The wedding is upstate this fall.
I was thinking of gourds/ candles, but maybe the florist is just easier.

Our RH put out candles with fall leaves for us. We didn't pay anything extra for it. (pics in album).

I don't think you have to do anything for the cocktail hour unless you want to. The guests are more concerned about having a place to put their food and drinks.

my RH just put votives on the tables. i dont think it's necessary.. most of the time people are just walking around and mingling anyway

mty florist through in the centerpiece for the cocktail hour. 100 dollars isnt bad considering how much money you are spending that day!

how about just voltives and rose petals?

Oours were included at the RH, no added expense, they gave small bubble bowls with floating rose heads in them

We are just doing candles....if it was free I would say do it, they sound cute, but it wouldn't be worth $100 to me!

i guess that price doesn't seem to bad, but i decided against centerpieces at the CH anyway. I thought it was necessary, but realized it probably wasn't. plus, the RH had candles or something small on most of the tables.

Honstly, I think the bud vase with flowers is overkill for cocktail hour...if you really want them, maybe you can find the vases yourself for cheaper online or in a craft store and ask your florist to give you the flowers

Honestly, I'd just go simple and do votive candle and rose petals...no one will really notice if the food is good enough

Thanks for all the feedback!
I'm going to ask the florist to hold off on them -

Thanks again!

We didn't do anything. I have no recollection of what table decorations were at our wedding nor at anyone else's we've attended.

I hadn't even thought of centerpieces for CH! We aren't having anything. Honestly I would put the $100 towards something else. If anything put some votives out, but I wouldn't stress, its only an hour.
