I've been reading the 2011 boards, and one bride who got married at my RH this past Thurs and has had issues with the hall mentioned that they had the cocktail hour and reception in the same room. When I told FH about her experience, he got really upset and was about to call our BM and demand to know if they were going to have our CH in a separate room. With our place, they don't know what room it is going to be, but at least they can assure us that this won't happen to us. I'm starting to regret cancelling our outdoor CH, but if we call and put that back on the contract, despite paying the extra money, at least we won't have to worry about getting screwed over with the same room. Thoughts?

Re: Cocktail hour concerns
She had her cocktail hour, then ceremony and then reception. If you are having the ceremony, then cocktail hour and then the reception you do not have to worry about the cocktail hour being in the same room as the reception. They can not do it since one goes into the other. I use to work in catering and it is not uncommon for the ceremony to be where the reception is and while you are in cocktail hour the ceremony room is changed into the reception room.
Don't drive yourself crazy. I have been to a million events at Crest Hollow and i have never been disappointed.
I know that they do not tell you who else is gong to be there that day but it really does not matter. They make sure you do not see the other parties.

Re: Cocktail hour concerns
I'll take your word, Mara. I think I feel this way since they keep everything a mystery, but you've been to enough events there to alleviate my stress and concerns.
I hope we have the CH in the Starlight room :)

Re: Cocktail hour concerns
My father said that in early May it's cooler in the evening, and we don't want to have guests shivering. It also costs $1200 to have it outdoors, and that's one expense we wanted to save. I guess it's always something we can have added back on to the contract though

I would not worry ladies so far I read nothing but Great reviews about crest hollow, I dont like the fact that I will not know what other events will be going on the day of my wedding but I guess what I dont know wont hurt lol.
Is anyone using this guy ERico Schulz for cocktail hour or ceremony?

Re: Cocktail hour concerns
For those of you who opted out of the outside CH, you're better off. I loveeee the pool area and think it's a beautiful setting but I went to a wedding there a few years ago where the couple had their CH outside by the pool & there was another CH (for another party) directly across. Not sure what they do now but I wouldn't want my guests staring at people from another party.

Re: Cocktail hour concerns
Awkward some? Lol. My only issue with CHCC is that they can have up to 4 events at once, and there's only one bathroom for all those guests.

4 is rare, but they can have that many at once. I wouldn't be too concerned, because they've been doing this for a long time.

Re: Cocktail hour concerns
When we went to visit this venue they said it was in a different room but that it would be another reception room. Hope that helps.

when i asked about how many go on each time, i was told they would never book 4 weddings in one day due to space, they have had 4 events if they arent weddings. and thats been really rare, if that helps alil
