Out of all the weddings I have been to I can't for the life of me remember if any of them had music playing during cocktail hour.
I am trying to decide if we need it or not. If you are having cocktail hour music is your DJ/Band playing or are you hiring someone else?
If you are hiring someone else what are you hiring??
Thank you

Re: Cocktail Hour Music
Yes we are having music during our cocktail hour. Our DJ is doing it for us. It cost a little extra, I don't remember how much though

We are having a guitar player for CH. We booked the guitar player through our DJ Company. FM me if you would like pricing info.

Re: Cocktail Hour Music
I am having an Harpist. In my opinion it's a must to have some kind of music during that hour otherwise it's kind of boring for some guests, because not everybody will be mingling and having non stop conversation....i think the music in the background set a nice ambiance.
Of course it's a little bit extra...

Re: Cocktail Hour Music
Our band included a keyboardist for the cocktail hour. It's nice to have some quiet music in the background while people mingle.

Re: Cocktail Hour Music
We are having a guitarist who also plays the piano/keyboards and sings. Looking for a fun CH choosing all famous bar songs that people could sing along to. Looking to set a fun mode before reception.

Re: Cocktail Hour Music
I believe that the reception hall is going to be playing cocktail hour type music for us. I have to double check this though.

We had an acoustic guitarist. We got SO many compliments on the CH music. Definitely do it if you are on the fence

Re: Cocktail Hour Music
One of our must haves for the wedding was a Steel Drummer for the CH (which we got through our DJ - LI Sound). We had the CH outside on the water and DH and I really wanted our guests to just feel relaxed and enjoy themselves. We had lots of our guests come up to us saying how nice of an addition it was to the CH.
