cocktail napkins?

who is doing cocktail napkins for their wedding with their personalized names and wedding date on it? i havent decided if i am doing this but i was wondering and curious to see how popular and big this is for weddings and if it is worth spending the money on cause afterall they are just napkins and not sure if its worth it? let me know, some feedback on this would be great - hehe!! :)

PS: and these napkins are put where? i havent really gone to a wedding that has had them so this is a stupid question, hehe.. and not sure where they put them and what they use them for? i am guessing for the cocktail hour and theyll just be around the food station tables for people to grab and take and wipe their mouth with?? LOL!!

We're not getting these. For us, it's just a waste of money that we could put towards something else for the wedding.

I think they are cute but I am not doing them because as you said, I would have no idea where they would go!!! I stuck with match books because they were on sale and I can keep them in a little wicker basket but I am probably going to pass on the napkins because I don't know where I would put them.

Re: cocktail napkins?

thanks so much for the feedback on this girls! :) i got such quick responses, hehe i lovee this.. so let me ask you, you just put the napkins at the bars during cocktail hour so the guests can take them with their drinks or the bartender hands it to them with their drinks? or their put also on the food station tables?

im gonna go on the knot now and if they still have that sale maybe ill just get myself to get them too, hehe.. its just a cute little extra thing i guess??

if im inviting about 250 people, i should have about what 450 napkins??

We got them... for some reason this was one of the dumb little extras I REALLY wanted.

I got white ones that say 'I do' on them from Michael's and they were only like $6 for 100.

I got them the last time the knot had a sale. I will be giving them to the RH and they will put them out during the CH.

I got them when The Knot had their last sale. I got half in white and half in red. Pics in my 'Wedding Stuff' album.

ETA: I plan to give them to the bartenders to give out with drinks during the CH.

Re: cocktail napkins?

We already got ours. They are going to be used during the cocktail hour. I think they bring a little something extra like a personalized touch. I got mine from the Knot also, they came out great!! Really good quality and very inexpensive!

Re: cocktail napkins?

I think I am doing them, because when we were at my friend's wedding a few months ago, she had them and FH said they were cool and asked if we were going to have anything with our names and date on it. So since this is the only 'extra' that FH ever asked for or expressed interest in, I must take full advantage.

I know the Knot is having a sale right now, but I don't know, I kind of like the ones from For Your Party better with the Venetian flourish.

I was going to do them but then I decided to do the matches to go with the cigar roller and I didn't want too much personlized stuff floating around the cocktail hour. I thought it would be too much.

Re: cocktail napkins?

I noticed on theknot.com it has

Beverage size (5x5')
Luncheon size (7x7)

Which one is normal size? Which one should I get? Also, which one is better...these or for your party? Im on the fence... you ladies are convincing me to get these again lol
