cocktail party ideas?

cocktail party ideas?

Hey ladies!

So I am really excited because we are having a cocktail party for our bridal party next week, I had a hard time deciding how to 'officially' ask everyone so we decided to do this.

It is at our apartment and we want it to be really christmassy.

I need your help coming up with ideas as far as appetizers and cocktails! It will just be drinks and apps since it's late.

Any suggestions would be appreciated... I want it to be classy but fun and of course delicious!

TIA!

I love cocktail parties!

I like to do apps and drinks as well. I would suggest mozz balls, cherry tomatoes and basil on skewers. I made yummy pizzettes last time. I think I got it from Giada on Food Network. One was goat cheese and prosciutto and the other mozz and tom. Mini rice balls, shrimp cocktail or shrimp tempura (costco has a GREAt version), mini dumplings.

For dessert, I love doing fondue with strawberries, bananas, pineapples, pound cake, rice krispie treats and pretzels for dippers.

Hope this helps!

over the weekend, I had the most amazing martini!

whipped cream vodka
creme de cacao
creme de menthe

it's like drinking a peppermint patty!

I always make what my friends call the mega cheese plate.

i use a massive cutting board for the platter and slice 5 or 6 kinds of cheeses - usually a cheddar, smoked mozzeralla, ricotta salata, a port, a nut rolled goat cheese.. whatever the market has that i fresh and appealing.
I add sliced apples (make sure you toss in lemon juice so they dont get brown),grapes, cocktail sized rye and pumpernickle breads, and crackers or foccacia crisps. Then ill put assorted olives, hummus, roasted peppers, cherry tomatos, and marinated artichoke hearts in small bows. sometimes i buy some thin sliced proscuito and wrap the skinny breadsticks in it and add that to it also.
It's easy, looks impressive, and is fun to nibble on all night! You can make it before hand and know that food is taken care of !

I made a goat cheese, mushroom, and spinach pizza, cut it up into skinny strips and all my friends LOVED it. I added bacon on top for some extra flavor. here's the recipe

if you browse around on his site, he has some really good apps

my go-to easy apps are artichoke dip and taco dip.

my friend made a buffalo chicken dip that was out of this world - FM if u want the recipe (im too lazy to type it all out right now, sorry!)

another friend just gave me this recipe. I haven't tried it, but she said it was amazing (and she doesn't even like reubens!!)

Reuben Dip:
½ lb diced corned beef
1-8oz cream cheese
1 cup sauerkraut
1 cup shredded swiss cheese
1 tbl Ketchup
1 tbl spicy mustard

Mix it all together. Bake for 30 min @350. Serve with mini rye bread

Buffalo chicken dip is insane!

My friends plant themselves in front of it the moment it comes out.
