Re: Cocktail Party Shower
My friend had a cocktail party shower on a Saturday night and it was very fun. Everyone worn cocktail dresses and she served champagne, sparkling water and tons of passed hors dourves by caterers in formal white and black uniforms. She did end up opening gifts because I guess otherwise it would've just been a few hours of the same thing, but no games were played. Very fun idea! I've also heard of girls doing a wine and cheese shower.

make them drinking games, they can make the bingo cards, and everytime one of the items on their bingo card is opened, they have to drink!

Re: Cocktail Party Shower
We had an amazing Jack & Jill Shower that was a cocktail party on a Friday nite. Everyone loved it! Everyone got to mingle, have cocktails and eat without having to stay in there seats. I love cocktail parties! We didn't have any games - by BM's didn't think of it. I would say have some type of game, and let whoever wants to participate join in. I think it would be nice, I would have liked one or two. As for opening gifts - I wasn't going too, but alot of the women wanted to see what I was getting, so we went on one side of the room and whoever wanted to join, did and the others continued to mingle. That part was alot of fun too - I did it quick so it wouldn't take up too much time and besides you gotta have your 'shower hat' at least for pics! Enjoy and it's a great idea - it's a new twist to showers!

Re: Cocktail Party Shower
I just had a cocktail shower for my best friend. She opened gifts -- because we made her. The only game we had was really simple, but made sure people stayed involved. My friend made bridal shower scratch offs. When your gift was opened, you scratched off your scratch off to see if you won a prize. It worked well, b/c it wasnt too cheesey or time consuming, but gave people something to do while gifts were being open.
My friend makes these scratch offs. If you are interested...FM me

If I did have this type of shower and needed a game... i would come up with a wedding themed drinking game. im a lush like that!!!
