Hi folks, I'm new to the Forum. Just got engaged but had already started doing preliminary research.
I'd love to do a cocktail reception complete with dancing and extensive dessert. I also want to keep the guest list down (100 tops).
Can anyone recommend locations for such an event, perhaps in mid- to Eastern Nassau or Western Suffolk?
Thanks!

Re: Cocktail Reception
Hello! I am doing a cocktail reception at the Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park. Not sure if they changed their prices since January, but I'm sure you can customize to your liking. I went to a few places when we were searching and believe it or not, alot of places are doing it now. Good Luck!

Kellygirl, we share a name (I'm a Kelly too)!
Care to share where else you looked?
Bridgeview...I think I remember that one from Web. What time of year are you doing that?

Another Kelly!! We also looked at Sans Souci in Sea Cliff, Chateu Le Mer in Lindenhurst, and the Venetician (spelling?) Yacht Club in Babylon. We basically looked at places on the water. We are getting married next April.

Re: Cocktail Reception
We had the cocktail reception at Bridgeview Yacht Club also. They really went out of their way to make it everything I wanted. You're lucky when we were looking not a lot of places were willing to do this. Infact, many were outright rude to us and never called us back.
Good luck you will love it

Hi Hon! Welcome to liweddings!
I am having a cocktail eparty at the Snapper Inn. It is very reasonably priced and there is a lot included. You should def. check them out. It is gorgeous and right on the water.

Re: Cocktail Reception
For all the cocktail party girls:
Are any of you doing/or have done a menu for a cocktail party? I want to make a menu with a little paragraph thanking everyone for coming, listing our signature drinks, listing the hor derves, listing the hot food that will be served and dessert. Has anyone done this? I need help with wording!

George Washingtom Manor does cocktail receptions with amazing desserts! Great prices as well! Happy planning!

Re: Cocktail Reception
I think the Bourne Mansion does something very similar to a cocktail reception.

Re: Cocktail Reception
Thanks for the congrats ladies!
Saw Fox Hollow last night and was completely blown away. No Cocktail Reception unless during the week however, which wouldn't be too kind to out of town guests. However the minimum and prce wasn't bad at all...
