Cocktail reception
I recently got engaged. I was looking to do something a little different then a tradition wedding since this is my second marriage.I started looking up cocktail receptions. I was curious if anyone has been to one or if your doing one for your wedding. What venues offer it etc.. Any information would be helpful.
Thank you

Cocktail reception - Long Island Weddings
I think the mansion at west sayville offers something this! I think Flowerfield does as well! I'm sure if a venue you find DOESNT offer one... you can work something out with them!

I'm doing one next weekend!
We decided to go with the Venetian Yacht Club, they really have awesome options for this. Timber Point offers one also, and a lot of venues were willing to come up with something.
We're doing one room, with an hour or so of heavily passed hot and cold apps (all the hors d'oeuvres they offer) and a big tuscan display (meats, olives, cheeses, breads, salads, veggies, etc.)
Then we have 5 international food stations that will open up, all decorated, with two main entrees each and two side dishes each. The Italian station has 4 main entrees (two pasta, two meat).
We're doing:
American (pretzel dogs and grilled cheese with tomato soup shots, mashed potato bar)
Italian (two pasta options made to order, mussels in white sauce, eggplant parm)
Greek (actual gyro spit and falafel, sides of olives, cheese and pita, etc.)
South Western (make your own taco/fajita bar, short ribs, sides of nachos and fixins)
Carving (steak and salmon en croute, plus sides)
Then we have a big old dessert section.
It'll be eat when you want, dance when you want, drink as much as you want!
All of that food sounds amazing. Yummmy!!!

ps alot if places either have menus like this or for example I remember Stewart manor country club will take the higher menu with a larger cocktail hour and just take off the sit down dinner food and it is the same price! all leading have a buffet menu, Mediterranean manor has an all inclusive package that has dj, limo, photographer and video included as does the sterling, Atlantis in riverhead has a menu for that too.
