I have a question that I hope someone can help me with. Is it true if you drink coffee you gain weight? I am dieting and excerising, but haven't lost that much weight, but I haven't cut out the coffee (I drink 4 cups a day, at least!) I can't get to stop, but I think it's the reason why I am not losing any weight. I am typing this drinking my second cup!

Re: Coffee
I've never heard of this before! but I don't really know not a huge coffee drinker, I do know that it hurts my belly when i drink it and i am bouncing off the walls so I would think it has the opposite effect! lol Again, not too sure!

Re: Coffee
it is not the Coffee,, it is all the stuff that people put in it- milk, half and half, sugar, flavorings etc...

Re: Coffee
doesn’t caffeine suppress the appetite?
but it couldt be true. i would switch to decaf and see what happens.
also, do you add a lot of sugar to your coffee or drink with whole milk? I know I lost weight when I started adding fat free milk with no sugar to my coffee.

Re: Coffee
You wouldn't gain weight from drinking coffee, however, the milk (even fat free) definitely adds up. I do WW points and I always add 2 or 3points a day just for the skim milk I use in my coffee during the day too (I drink a lot).
I also have been told that Caffeine makes you retain water, so try to drink more water, it should help.

Re: Coffee
Coffee has a lot of toxins, so it could be bad for weight loss.

Re: Coffee
caffeine is a dyeretic (sorry I cant spell)- and it dehydrates you- so its possible that you are not drinking enough water to compensate- try drinking an extra glass or two of water for every cup of coffee you drink.
