Coindre Hall Brides/Guests

We're considering this venue, but we don't know much about it. Please tell anything you know...

I heard they were doing renovations through 2009. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that though, but it's one of the reasons I didn't look there.

Hello. FH and I visited Coindre Hall the day after Christmas. April, from Lessings, was amazing and really friendly and flexible. She explained that this summer Lessings will be taking over the property exclusively - ie, not sharing it with other caterers, so they have big plans. They will be doing some renovations, but mostly it seems like they will be tending to general maintenance and cosmetic issues given that it is such an old building. There are definitely some cosmetic issues with the facade. It's old, but that also contributes to the overall charm. The max the space can accommodate is, I think, 190 for a sit down dinner. The cocktail hour room seemed kind of small, but I realize guests will also pour into the foyer, outside if possible and a barrel vaulted hallway that overlooks a center garden. The dinner and dancing take place in two separate rooms ('European style'), but everything is very closely connected and I kind of like having the separation. The ch room and the dancing room had fireplaces. April seemed willing to work on the price with us.

FM me for more info or if you have questions!

Wow, thanks for all the info. We're going to visit and figure it out for ourselves.

We had considered Coindre Hall but when I called Lessings they said they weren't doing any bookings until renovations were done; they couldn't give me an approximation of when they would be completed, so we moved on.

They are expecting to be completed with renovations April 1, so we're going on a tour in order to have our wedding this summer.
