Cold Sore

Just a few days to wedding and a cold sore erupted on the corner of my lip.

My worst wedding fear. I have been guzzling water popping vit C and using up tubes of Abreva

Any other remedies I can try...???

Re: Cold Sore

Go to the store and get the Vitamin supplement Lysine, and if you go to your doc he can give you Valtrex.

Get a prescription of Valtrex from your doctor, take lysine pills and try using abreva!

Ugh Abreva always makes it worse for me. If you can get to the doctor this morning or have him call in a prescription for DENAVIR....get it ASAP!!!! It is not over the counter, u need a prescription and it is a cream. It will stop the cold sore in it's tracks and get rid of it MUCH sooner. I usually apply every 2 hours or so and make sure to keep it on....it's a lifesaver. Good Luck

Also ~ Make sure you tell them your wedding is SOON!!!! That way they won't blow you off and hopefully will just call it in ..... this is an EMERGENCY!!

Re: Cold Sore

if the cold sore is already out, valtrex wont work. Ice the cold sore as much as possibly and take Lysine (take double the dose of lysine)..The health food store also carries a lysine cream which is half the cost of abreva and works as well.

ABREVA!!!! It is a most. It costs $20 for a tiny little tube but it works great. FSIL and I were talking about this last night.

Use Carmax! The stuff works on everything, You can even put it on ring rot (that funky rash you get on your finger under rings from left pver moisture after washing your hands).
