In college, my best friend and I roomed with the same 4 other girls for 3 years. My best friend and I are getting married about 2 months apart this year. She is having a much bigger wedding and has decided to invite one of our roommates, we'll call her roomie #4. Neither of us have really kept in touch with her since graduating. I saw her at a reunion back in June and we haven't communicated since. I wasn't going to invite her to my wedding since I can count the number of times we've emailed/spoken since college, but my best friend is going to (they've spoken even less). I feel like it will be super awkward if she comes to bf's wedding. Do I have to invite her? What would you do?

Based on what you said, don't invite her.
As for me. I hadn't seen my gf's that I lived with for 2 years since college, but we stayed in contact through group e-mails. I invited them all (8 in total), and none of them came.

Re: college roomies question
If you haven't stayed in contact with her, and don't plan on being in contact with her, I wouldn't invite her. It's hard enough to limit the number of guests you invite to a wedding, don't invite someone you don't think you'll ever talk to again!

Won't it be awkard if I see her at my bf's wedding? That's what I am most afraid of!

Re: college roomies question
I'm of the opinion that a wedding should be shared with only people that you care about and who will make your day more special or more complete and it doesn't sound like this girl fits the criteria...it might be awkward when you see her but (a)I don't think thats enough of a reason to invite her and (b)if she has any kind of manners or sense she'll hopefully know that not everyone can be invited everywhere for personal or financial reasons and not make it awkard for you

Don't even raise it as an issue. Is this friend attending the bf's wedding - just cause she's invited, doesn't mean they come, so kepe that in mind. Just stick with the phrase only close family and friends are coming if she asks. I got used to saying that to friends who just wanted to come, but we were limited.

You don't have to invite anyone that you don't feel should be there. Even if it is a little awkward when you see her at your friend's wedding, that's just one day and then you'll go back to not seeing her/talking to her again.

i agree with this....if you do see her and you do talk to her...just keep it at we are keeping it to close friends and families
