I am getting married in October of next year... and I STILL have NO IDEA what colors I want. At first, I thougt I wanted red dresses with orange and yellow flowers...now I want something diff. So Im like.. ok brown dresses, orange flowers?? But STILL i dunno... I want something like, fall...but not typical fall?? I dunno if that makes sense... moral of the question is....
what colors can I get away with using in the fall without it being weird? I dont think pastels would work unless paired with a bold color.... Im just at a loss so if anyone has some inspiration I would be so thankful!!!!!!!

Re: color help!
did you think of adding purple in the mix?
by the way, i love that your name is teresa and your nickname is tessie bc mine is theresa and everyone calls me tessie and tess...you don't really meet a lot of girls with that nickname, it's usually terry

Re: color help!
I would suggest waiting until you get your dress first, because that may dictate the overall 'look' of the wedding. For instance, I thought I was going to get a very crisp-looking ruched dress, and I envisioned my bm's in crisp yellow to complement the look. Well, I ended up with a very soft romantic-looking ivory lace dress, which bright yellow dresses would look horrendous with! So I ended up picking more soothing colors: ivory, sage green, and silver with hints of peach.
Other nice colors for fall (other than the foliage colors) would be a dark plum or navy.

you know what I really love the idea of purple ( and I think it looks nice with brown, is that weird?) but my FSIL is doing purple for her wedding thats before mine, so i feel like I will look like a copycat!~ lol And you know what ive noticed that before with our names! I agree, with most people its terry...but not us! we are nickname twins awww!

I had the same process of thought as you.... we're doing brown w. tiffany blue...but brown will be our main color, and the tiffany blue will mainly be accents.

Re: color help!
Purple really seems to be the color this year. Sorry your in-law already snagged that idea. I agree the navy blue would be a great idea. DavidsBridal.com has a really cool virtual dress rehearsal feature called Dress Your Wedding...try using that to mess around with color combos. It helped me in the beginning.

Re: color help!
Im getting married in Oct too... We are doing black white and apple green. I thought it was keeping it crisp but I am bringing in the fall by using granny smith apples as the underlying theme....

Re: color help!
Hi tessie,
Take a look at this website. Its has a few different color combos. I think the one about raspberry and brown is nice.
I am doing purple, gold, and brown. So if you don't want to seem like a copycat, which I don't think you will you can do brown and gold and then something to make it pop, a dark turquoisey color???
Also, what kind of purple is she doing? you could do eggplant if she's doing violet or plum if she's doing something light...just a thought.

I would still use those colors, but I would make the olive the dominate color or use a lime green instead. I also love the way the olvie & slate look.
