Color Help Please

Color Help Please

So my BM are wearing navy. I want all deep red flowers. After saying this some friends have said be carefuly of the whole red, white and blue theme though. I voiced my concern to the florists I have might and they have shown me pictures and it looks pretty as long as you do it right.

So here's my question....as far as tableclothes, invitations and chair cover sashes, What color do I do???

Should I just keep it all white with a hint of blue in the invitations? Maybe just white sashes and a color napkin?

I have no idea and I figured I should get this straight b4 I do anything else.

Also, if anyone can find me some pics, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks girls!

Re: Color Help Please

My BM are wearing Cinnimon Color dresses with Champagne sashes. So we are doing a neutral beige colored table cloths. I don't want things to clash too much. The chairs are brand new so no need for chair covers. YAY!

Re: Color Help Please

I would suggest keeping all your linens clean and using the navy blue as an accent.

Your color should be an accent and not overpower the whole event.

* Keep the linens simple and clean--white tableclothes and napkins all white or ivory. Use the navy as an accent--napkin rings, charger plates, CP's....

* Set your theme by incorporating navy in your invites. Go ahead and find an invite you love--whether it be all navy or an invite with a hint of navy...or even the writing in navy.
* Pick flowers that match and compliment the color.

The key is to take your color and use it sparingly and strategically. By doing so, you will make that color pop and have a nice balance in the wedding.

Good luck!

i have seen pics of the red & blue look elegant. that said, if you're doing red flowers for CPs, i'd try to keep blue off the table. maybe go all white/ivory with the linens. i love red and white together--so crisp and festive HTH!

I would keep it neutral for table cloth and chairs and use navy blue and red as the accents. Ex. Navy blue napkins, red invitations with blue accents, red centerpieces.
Red and white cake.

Hope that helps!

Re: Color Help Please

I am using navy as my main color because its my absolute fave color and i always wanted to incorporate it in my wedding...lol. My other accents are ivory, gold and silver...i am going for a more antique classic look. keeping the flowers white with a hint of blue...if you are set on the red though i am sure the florist can make it work...

table linens will be ivory and gold though

This is the boq I would have in mind if you're doing navy dresses... JMO

The was I did it is looked at my boq and cps, and picked out colors to completement them.

I think navys and reds can come in too many shades, some shades will look to stark against white or ivory, maybe go for more golds and corals. It really depends.

By the way, this is a great site with loads of pics for ideas:

Great site! Thanks for posting that!

I think that white/ivory tablecloths and blue accents would look gorgeous. A little splash here and there goes a long way

i would agree with this! use the blue as an accent and the red in the flowers keep the tables, linens, etc. clean and white. I would do it mostly white and blue and add in the red as an accent with flowers
