Color Issue

Color Issue

Okay so my color scheme was originally black and white and purple, however my dress is off white so I changed it to Ivory and black with purple. I ordered all of my stuff for the wedding in Ivory but I'm not happy now because Ivory is so far off from my dress color. I feel like nothing is going to match. I chose to order everything in Ivory because white was just too white against my dress. Now I have no idea what color shirt to get for FH to wear. No matter if he goes with white or ivory the color is going to be off. I can't change my dress color because I bought a sample dress.

maybe they can dye fh's shirt to match your dress? but he'd prob have to buy it then

or i would bring a swatch of your dress from after they alter it and bring it with you when you when you and fh shop for a tux this way you can see how close a match it is

Honestly, I don't think there will ever be any way for every single color to match exactly. Ex: favors, flowers, and dresses cant all match b/c they come from different vendors. i think this is one of those smaller things you should try not to worry about. no one will notice.

hmmm.... maybe u can match ur FH to the stuff and u be the special one in a brighter/darker ivory.
another option is to try returning the stuff u bought b/c ur not happy with the color, and maybe they have something closer to ur ivory color dress

Re: Color Issue

is ivory the predominant color or more of just an accent? if it is an accent, it shouldn't be too big of a contrast?

I wouldn't be too concerned about the other stuff being a different shade.....it's not like it's going to be stacked up next to your gown.

For FH's shirt, honestly I'd just go white. Remember, he's going to have a jacket on during the ceremony, and during the reception, there's so much lighting and whatnot going on that I don't think anyone will even notice.

No matter what color anyone goes with, each shade of every item will differ slightly. As long as you have one color as a theme with all the accents you will be fine. I honestly dont think anyone will be sitting there commenting 'the grooms shirt doesnt match the brides dres...blahsphemy...' and no one is going to be comparing all of the little stuff to each other...Try not to stress it, bc on your wedding day no one will notice it or stress it either...

Imo i don't think it's necessary to match the color of your dress to everything else.

You want the color of your dress to contrast against the other colors used in ur wedding.

Re: Color Issue

Thanks for all of the advise. My biggest concern was FHs shirt next to my dress. I really wanted us to match and I prefer for his shirt to be the same as my dress.
