Color of BM's dresses has changed....

from chocolate brown to wine. We went to David's this weekend, and the brown just didn't do anything for eother of them, and they both loved the wine, so we ordered them. Question now is...what color flowers can I do with that? I think the bright yellow and oranges are out, as well as my idea of lavendar. Could I still do some pink and darker roses?

What shade of wine is it? Do you have a pic? some wine colros are more pink/red family, some are more purple/browns.

I would probably stick with warmer tones than a soft pink but again ti depends on the shade of the dress.

It's David's Bridal wine. The pic on their website looks more purple than it actually is. My camera battery died last night otherwise I would have post it. Lemme see if I can find something similar...

Lavender is definitely out. Would not look good against the wine.
Not sure about pink roses. Depends upon what color undertone the wine dress has. A Leonidas rose with the darker Black Magic rose may look better.
Leonidas rose is a dusty terra cotta color, with a lighter underside petal. A Black Magic is a deep burgundy red.

You might still be able to do yellows/oranges, all depends upon what undertones the wine dress has. If it leans towards brownish, then yellows/oranges are ok. If it leans towards blue/red, then the Leonidas and Black Magic.

Thanks. I think it is more of a deep purple base. Almost like the color of merlot wine. What about lily's?

I would stick to fall colored flowers. Maybe something similar to these

Hmm I'd definetly stay away from pale pink UNELSS you are going to add in Black Magic roses which would pull both colors together. I would do warmer colors-orangey shades of roses and rust. Or how about calla Lillies? I know they come in all shades including one close to your dresses. I would do the ribbon ina complimentary color-a thinner black ribbon wrap ovr a brugandy/wine one would make it pop.

Some lily's can have a heavy scent, which is why I don't like them.
The stamens also have to be cut out so that the pollen does not get all over the place.
I FM'd you a website that lists all different flowers by color grouping so you can get an idea.

I think ivory or pink and red roses would be nice.

We are using the exact same dress. We are using black beauty roses, cream roses, putting some orange and ivy in the bouquets. We are also putting berries.
