Color of Tux vs. Bridesmaid dresses.

My Fiancee and I were discussing the color of my bridesmaid dresses. Ourwedding is in September , as is my B-day , so I want sapphire blue dresses. As for the guys tux's He is thinking grey. I think its a good idea.... Wll black be too dark with a dark color such as the sapphire blue... or do you think a silvery grey is a great accent ????

Question: Is it an evening or daytime wedding?

I'm a daytime. My girls are wearing platinum (looks like a icey silvery blue) and the men are wearing Charcoal tuxes.

If yours is daytime, the silvery grey is nice, if it's evening, maybe a darker grey/charcoal would be nice. Black may be more of a contrast, however many Grooms use it.

We got married in August and had black tuxes, and cornflower blue dresses. The black tuxes next to the blue looked great. We just colored the guys vests to be platinum, which showed up really nicely.

I would suggest going with black tuxes and sapphire blue vests for the guys. It shows up nicely in the pictures.

Personally, I don't like colored tuxes. And if your guys are in grey, your FH will have to be also, otherwise it will look unbalanced. JMHO though.

I personally like the idea of black tuxes with sapphire blue dresses. You can accessorize the guys with sapphire vests

I think it would be a nice contrast. as for being to dark my girls are wearing black and so are the guys. Doesn't get any darker than that!

Thanks for the info ladies.
It is a daytime wedding.
I did throw out the idea of black tux's with blue vest. For some reason he likes grey. I saw a dark silvery grey one that I think will look kinda cool.
I just wasnt sure...
