Color Question??

Color Question??

What's a good color to put my MOH (who is my sister) she is in her early 40's, about 5'3 and is slightly heavy and has a very pale complextion. I want to put her in a color that is flattering on her and we are having a hard time deciding.

ETA: I want to put my BM's in a pale color but can't see my sister in that - any suggestions for something pale for my BM's and darker for her???

TIA

you could do the BM's in a pale pink and then put her in a deeper pinkish, almost red color

I thought of that but she already asked me if I could stay away from the pinks because she is scared that she'll look like a 'pink elephant' (even though she won't)

I was thinking maybe lavender for the girls and a plum for her ??? but I really want my girls in a pale yellow and I can't put her in yellow, she'll kill me so I don't know what to do.

How about Navy. I've seen a few weddings with navy BM dresses, and it looks great! Good color for May too

I wouldn't do yellow dresses...even thought it's my favorite color - it looks horrible on em......you can do the purple idea though, and then use yeloow flowers....i think that would be lovely!

I say put your MOH in a purple color and the bridesmaids in lavender.

What about shades of pink or purple? Your BM's could wear a pale pink and your sister could wear a darker shade of pink

I'd go maybe navy on your sister and a paler blue (wedgewood, periwinkle) for the rest of your girls. I am very fair and I think navy is always a good color.

Thanks everyone! I might but my girls in a yellow and my MOH in a totally different color -Something that is darker yet looks good with yellow - if that dosent work then I'm stuck with the Lavender and deep purple (which I don't want) but I rather everyone be comfortable Thanks

I like your yellow color idea and then her in something darker. You can tie it all in with your flowers...that's what I'm doing...

My BM's are in SeaMist green and one of them is pregnant, so she couldn't buy a maternity dress in that color, so she is going to be in Victorian Lilac...My florist will tie all of the Bo-K's with a victorian Lilac ribbon to tie them all together.

Just choose 2 complimenting colors. Good luck and it will look gorgeous!!!

Besides, it will make a statement...

Re: Color Question??

what about having the bridesmaids in yellow dresses with purple flowers, and the MOH in a purple dress with yellow flowers? so it all coordinates, but everyone is comfortable?
obviously, you can use different colors, but since those were two of the ones being thrown around....i thought i would use them....

I think Navy & Purple complement yellow beautifully.

What colors does she normally wear? I think its nice that you are trying to be so accomodating to your sister.

Thanks, I just want everyone to be comfortable and happy. She normally wears darker colors - she looks great in Red because she has black hair but I think red is too bold for May.

HI - I'm really pale too - with red hair, I usually prefer darker colors also. Dark reds, purples and the ever popular.... black. I don't think pale colors are the way to go if she is pale.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Jim Hjelm had a couple of dresses that were pale pink with burgundy accents..... I think they also had the opposite, burgundy w/pale pink accents.....

Re: Color Question??

Since she is the MOH, you could get away with almost anything. I know one girl who is doing brown for all of her girls and then purple for the MOH (not what *I* would choose, but i am sure it will look nice). YOu could go for let's say a light yellow for the girls and then an orange for her.

Then again, I could just be biased because my girls are all dressed in orange....
