color scheme clash

I have been trying to deal with all sides of my situation but since I am a guy and trying to make this all work for the women i am in a lot of trouble! my bride would like to have everyone wear the same color (which is peachish) and and have the dresses tailor made but my sister and sister in law are pregnant and will be expecting or just recently given birth just around the time of the wedding! so they both don't want to make a dress when they have no clue what shape and size they will be before the wedding!!! also they feel that peach will look terrible on them since they will be pregos! anyone have any good advice to give?

Honestly, I think everyone needs to compromise. I can understand your sisters not knowing what size they will be for the wedding. No matter what dresses they buy, they will have to order it larger and have it taken in a few weeks before the wedding. Your fiance needs to choose a dress with an appropriate waistline for your sisters - maybe something empire waisted.

As for the color, your sisters have to let it go. It's you and your FW's wedding. You get to choose the colors. If your sisters don't agree, then that's too bad. It's not their wedding.

Maybe the pregnant girls can wear a beautiful chocolate brown empire waisted dress - as this color would look lovely with peach. What other colors are in the color scheme if your bride doesn't like brown?

Actually, if she doesn't like brown, the right color of steel gray could look so good with Peach dresses - maybe they can do something like that? Have your sisters check out the Bill Levkoff dress style # 633. (You can take off the flower.) This is a light flowing material that I'm sure they won't mind wearing!

I think your FW is entitlted to pick the color and your sisters should let that go. Im sure nobody gave them grieft over the color thier BMs wore at their weddings... as for the dress, it wont make a difference because if they order an made dress, your sisters will have to buy it very large since they are preggo and have it taken in.. the dress + alterations will probably equal to the same thing has having the dress made.

I wouldnt worry about, it will all work out. Just remember its your FW and your day and you should stand by each other and do what you want

First of all, hello future groom!!!! I don't think we've had a groom on here yet! So congrats and welcome!! I agree with the other ladies, that your FW has the right to pick any color she wants, and your sisters have to accept it. It's not their wedding, and even if they feel they will look bad preggers in peach, that's the color of the wedding! I also think that the style of the dress should be suitable for a pregnant woman, and should make them comfortable. Your FW may need to choose a different style for the two preggers, a lot of people do more than one style of BM dress. More than anything, I think you need to support your FW fully, more than mediate between your sisters and her. SHE is the bride, and her happiness is more important than your sisters' in this scenario. Good luck!!

To all who have replied, thank you so much for the warm welcome!!! your advice is sound and i will utilize it as much as i can. My future wife (fw??) doesn't care about the style of dress she says that everyone can make their own dress. i think it will just take some time to 'marinate' with my sisters and should work out ( i hope) what do you girls think about having all different pastel colors if each person would wear a different one? oh and my sister has red hair if that makes anyones opinion change. good luck to all the newly weds and brides!!!!

Great to meet you! I can understand your position, because my FH's sister who is my bm, has bright red hair and a very pink complexion. I ended up going with half green, half purple on the dresses. She, needless to say, is in green, which really suits her! My blond and dark haired girls are in the bright purple I think that shades of pastel is an interesting idea that would look nice if executed properly. I think it could also look messy if not done right. I think you FW definitely has a vision of what she wants, and it will end up looking beautiful!! Good luck!!!

Re: color scheme clash

Welcome! The color of the dress is ultimately your FW (future wife's) choice but I think she should take the coloring of the bridesmaids into consideraton. Maybe you could mention to her that peach looks bad on your sister and may not be flattering on or in the pictures. My future sister in law is a redhead also and I really tried to take that into consideration when choosing a dress color so I ended up with sable brown rather than red.
