we are having our engagement party in FIL's backyard. We rented round table and chairs. We also rented pale yellow table clothes.
I want to make napkin rings that match a center piece. so what I need help on is:
1. What color napkin? 2. What kind of flower? (sunflower, daisy other?)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
thanks! Nancy

Re: color scheme help!
I think white and yellow go really pretty ( so does pink but maybe thats too girly?) I would do white table clothes and yellow and orange and pink flowers.

Re: color scheme help!
I think yellow would go well with a light blue, maybe a cornflower blue? It's very summery and would be perfect for a backyard event. For flowers, maybe yellow tulips and blue hydrangea?
Or yellow roses? I LOVE roses!! Now I'm getting jealous. I tell you, if FI parents and my parents weren't divorced I'd have an engagement party in someone's backyard. There's no neutral zone right now though--maybe a park in a neutral state too, like CT

Well since you already have the pale yellow tableclothes, why don't you buy daisies for the CP and use white napkins. Keep the hwole theme yellow and white. I think that would be really pretty, yet not too girly, for a summer bbq.

Re: color scheme help!
I like the daisy idea the best but FSIL had a daisy theme at her wedding. I was trying to aviod that because I wanted to be original. But I like the idea...I think I may do that.

Well if you want to do something different, why don't you have a beach theme. Skip the flower centerpieces and have small beach pails as your CP. Since it's a backyard party you can get frisbees or beach balls made up with you and your FH name. I don't know if you're having kids at the party, but set up a sprinkler for them and have a volleyball net and bocci balls. It would certainly be a bit different and I bet everyone would love it!

I think sage green would look nice with the pale yellow and white!

I like the idea of pink and yellow. Pink Gerber daisies?

Re: color scheme help!
Use Gerber Daisies!!!!! They are my favorite flower, but they come in great colors, including yellow.
And then I would use a white napkin.

I second the idea of yellow, light blue and white. Centerpieces of yellow roses and blue hydrangeas would look very pretty!
