What's your theme for your wedding? Or are you just sticking with a color scheme? I'm so stuck on this and can't seem to stick to one idea.

I'm using jewel tones throughout. It will primarily focus around a dark plum/eggplant purple.

Re: Color Scheme vs. Theme
Our theme is eco-friendliness. But that's our lifestyle so it just kind of fell into place.
Our colors are spring green and bold orange, which will go great with the theme.

no theme other than sort of fun and whimsical...colors are yellow and turquoise (which definitely play into the fun and whimsical!!)

Re: Color Scheme vs. Theme
I am not having a theme, I am only having everything be in the same assortment of colors: fuschia/raspberry, baby pink, with champagne/gold accents.

Re: Color Scheme vs. Theme
I keep going back and forth on this too. I don't really want a strong/prominent 'theme'...if anything my theme will be very subtle. The 'theme' I have been incorporating into my wedding is cherry blossoms...but I really don't know how much cherry blossom we will incorporate. We will def have CB centerpieces and we may have a CB decorated cake and CB decorated cookies as favors..but I don't think we are going to have them on our invites or other stationary (programs, menu, table number, etc). So it really may not be considered a 'theme' but more just CB elements added to our wedding.
Soo..I may end up doing more of a color scheme instead of theme. I really love CBs, but I don't want it to be CB overload....so the color scheme may be better. I'm not set on colors yet, but I'm thinking blue and pink.

Re: Color Scheme vs. Theme
I was gonna do the fall theme...then I realized it was just gonna cost xtra to add all those little elements and I couldnt trust my family to really appreciate that stuff anyways so to answer your question-no theme for us jsut colors.

FH is having a hard time understanding the reason for matching everything (invitations, BM dresses, flowers, programs, etc.). He doesn't see why everything should go together. Trying to at least come up with a color scheme or theme that he can kind of understand and get on board with.

Re: Color Scheme vs. Theme
I was going to do a theme...but I just decided to forget it. I was afraid I wouldnt do enough of the theme and people wouldnt notice...or I'd do TOO much and it would be a sweet 16. So I'm just doing a color scheme.

My FH was unable to picture color combos. I'd show him pictures from websites and magazines and he'd say something like 'that dress is ugly' or 'i don't like those invites' What I did, in order to nail down a color combo for us, was this: I went to a paint store and took a bunch of the swatch cards in colors we were contemplating and brought them home. I spread them across the coffee table, and within ten minutes he and I rearranged them until we came up with what we really liked.
You might want to try that with him. Men visualize things differently from women.

Are you doing the gray suits that are in your album? I was thinking about something other than the traditional black tux but not sure how that would work. Can they rent other color tuxes/suits?

FH and I are going to look for a darker grey tux/suit. We were going to do Black with a gunmetal vest and a fuschia tie, but i saw a pic of something similar and it was just too much.
But with like 'theme' wise i did a slipper basket with Fuschia, grey, and black flip flops. And my invites will be mainly pearl, but have accents of the gunmetal and fuschia.
