How do you ladies feel about them? I thought I loved them, and let my friend know that I wanted to wear a blue shoe with my gown. She told me that it was so tacky, and when people see my wedding pictures in the future they will be able to guess what year I got married in because it seems really popular know, and it's a fad that will die quickly. What do you girls think? She kinda pissed me off.
Do you think wearing a colored shoe with your wedding gown is tacky?

It is nearly impossible to NOT date yourself/your wedding in some way or another. Women with the poofy sleeves of the 80s loved it at the time and that is what made them happy! At least colored shoes are subtle. lol.
I think colored shoes can be very cute, but I think the shade and style should reflect the style of the gown/mood of the wedding--- for example, my gown has a really vintage feel to it, so if I decide to go blue, I would probably go for a really soft, muted, blue (like these). If my gown were more modern, I would opt for a bright cobalt. Another option is something like these with the blue just on the soles!!!

I love colored shoes..I wore blue..no one knows the only pictures you see them in are the ones where I lifted my dress for them to be seen.

no, i think it depends on your wedding dress, if your wedding dress are troditionally white , then you can wear a pair of shoes with light color, but if your wedding dress are very individual and special, you can choose a very colored one, both are ok ,

I am wearing an ivory lace dress similar to Irishali's and my shoes are gonna be red.
I would wear whatever you want. Its your day, not theirs.

I love it! As you can see by my profile pic lol... my husband wore fun socks too! You really don't even see the shoes unless you pick up your dress... I don't think anyone really noticed uless I showed them, it was fun tho and we got some cool photos, I switched to flip flops for most of the reception

I think having colored shoes is a great idea. There isn't a single wedding that won't have a detail that will 'date' it so go with what makes you happy! I'm having royal blue sequins peep toes for my day!

ETA: it is YOUR wedding- do what You want and don't be swayed by what other people have to say- they can wear white shoes on their weddign day

This being said, I OBVIOUSLY think colored shoes are a great idea! If you like it, that's all that matters. I doubt you will look back on your day and say...'damn i wish i didn't wear those shoes!!!'
