for those of you who made coloring book for the kids at your wedding, how did you bind the coloring book? did you use ribbon, staples, a hole punch...? and did you print double-sided? i'm thinking that kids probably don't mind too much about getting a pretty coloring book like a program or invitation... but i don't want the coloring book to like there was no thought put into it either. last question... did you hand the kids the coloring book at the ceremony or at the reception or did you just leave them somewhere for them to pick up? thank you!!!

To bind it we used staples. I figured that would be better than pretty ribbon for them to play with and untie...
I can't remember if I did double sided printing or now. I don't think I did.
We used construction paper for the cover and put a picture of a scarecrow couple (that I rec'd at my shower) and had 'Aunt Lori & Uncle Richie's Wedding Day' (all the kids were our Nieces & Nephews.)
Since our wedding was the day before Halloween we gave the kids 'goodie bags' (NO Candy!), but filled with trinkets for the kids, crayons, the coloring book and a book titled 'The Night Before Halloween' (great title being we were married the Night Before Halloween). We left these items on the kids chairs (so it would clutter the tables) and this was their favors while the adults rec'd the other favors.
I thought I had pics online, but they must be on our home computer. If I remember later I'll attach pics for you to see.

wow, what a creative and thoughtful idea! i *love* the halloween theme!!! thank you for posting! the part about the ribbon is a good call b/c i was thinking of just binding it with ribbon. come to think of it, the kids might just untie the ribbons.... hmm... how much was binding at staples?

no we just used staples to bind it...with a stapler. It's funny because out of habit I almost capitalized the S in staples and then I'm think...umm...no that's the store...
I was worried about the kids getting it caught on their clothes, or their fingers, but I think I finally made these the week before the wedding and just said...'whatever'
