I recently git engaged and this is my first time posting here although I have read lots of your great advice! I have noticed that many of you had weddings at East Wind. I am getting married at the Estate at East Wind on April 4, 2009. When I saw the room there were no flowers set up and they had burgandy napkins in the glasses. I am nervous about my colors cause I feel like they have to go with the green and burgandy of the room? What were your experiences with colors of dreeses and flowers going with the room? I would appreciate any help and pictures if possible!
Welcome aboard! I am getting married at Westbury Manor in February. Originally I wanted a silver and navy blue wedding...sort of a winter wonderland. After seeing the room I noticed that it was filled with dark woods and antigue brass decor. )The carpets were a shade of red and gold I believe.) The only thing I changed was the silver to more gold accents. Other than that...I dont think I have to change anything else.

Re: Colors of reception site?
i would call and ask if they have an option on napkin color....I'm at the westbury manor and we can change the linens color....as for the rug, i feel nobody is looking at the floor! you can barely see it with the tables in the way and theres people in the room!

Re: Colors of reception site?
Hi! I was married at the Harbor Club in Huntington and they have smilar color scheme.
You should be given a choice of colors for your tablecloths, napkins, etc. and can rent chair covers and sashes. You can also incorporate greenery into your floral arrangements and centerpieces, if you like and you can work with a lighting design company to create the ambiance you are looking for.
FM me for more details.

Re: Colors of reception site?
just ask about the napkins & linens...i'm sure u can do whatever u want. the estate at east wind is beautiful...i've been to a bunch of weddings there, all different color schemes, and never once noticed if it didn't go with the scheme of the room. I've seen light lavender, black, chocolate brown, etc...dont worry about it...and like i said - most likely u can do whatever u want(or atleast have a few options) about ur linens.
