Colors question...

So I want my colors to be red and purple...

These pictures are my MOH's dress (the BMs will be flesh tones underneath), the FG dress I like (today anyway) and then my flower ideas... is it weird to have the FG in purple when the MOH has red in her dress??? What if I get her a black sash to tie it in with everyone else's dresses?

Yeah... I wanted them all to be cream and then my colors were just going to be purples but then my sister convinced me I should include reds and to let her do it for the underlay of her dress to let her stand out as the MOH... basically I had no idea what to do with that... the only good thing about the cream is that it is pretty much flesh toned so it doesn't scream 'look at me, I'm different!!!!'

You wouldn't consider doing the underlay in the BM dresses purple? Otherwise I think I'd put the FG in red also and let the purple come in more in the flowers.

Again, JMO, but I think it's gonna look weird with 3 different dress colors in the BP. People might disagree with me though.

Dresses are ordered already... I called and there is nothing they can do about changing the cream underlay (plus the outer layer only comes in black/brown/nacy). Any person I mentioned about putting the flowergirl in red to was horrified and told me it was inappropriate to put a little girl in red and I don't think her mother was a huge fan either. The other option was to put her in black and I think the woman at the store and my mother almost fainted.

I DIDN'T EVEN WANT A FRIGGIN FLOWERGIRL!!!!!

Ooookay, I don't see anythign wrong with putting a FG in red... but all right...

You can always make her a mini-bride in white with a red sash? or black sash? or none at all? and give her purple flowers and just bring int he purple in the flowers more...

Or you can do what you said and put her in purple with a black sash, I'm probably just annoying you at this point, haha, so I guess see what some other people say about it.

I've never met the kid and I'm being selfish so I don't want her in white. (yes I'm being a brat)

I didn't think there was anything wrong with red either but her mother didn't seem thrilled and the women at 2 different bridal stores acted like i said I was going have her walk down the aisle in something lady gaga pulled out of her closet.

That's just ridiculous! Who is the kid anyway? I don't know any little girls so I don't have a fg and that's fine with me.

FH's cousin's kid. She lives in PA. Basically I was told she was my flower girl.

ugh, G- dont hate me, but i dont really see it.... I love the color combo in the bo-ks, but I can't really visualize the little girl wearing a purple dress.....

Can she wear a nude- color dress? or something with an overlay similar to bridesmaids? How old is she?

I know what you are going through - My future aunt almost passed out / reached through phone to strangle me, when i told her that her 8yr old daughter would be wearing black and white (she is junior bm) and I reluctantly put her in the same dress as FG to keep the peace (and it matches better so its actually a win-win). -- Dress is white with black sash....

I really like the color scheme you are going with. Those flowers look beautiful and will tie everything together nicely...

My BM's are in the same Jordan dress and the cream under the lace a bit more toned down than one would imagine, under the lace bodice.

She's 5 (I think) I found a dress that would have been perfect, satin bottom, lace overlay and a friggin sash but it only comes in champagne or ivory.... If this came in black I would have told everyone TOO BAD it's the dress that matches but no such luck. I'm on the fence with the colors so I really do appreciate the opinions. I think she's just going to end up in black....

My final suggestion is to smack your sister in the face because if you woulda left her dress the same as the BM's or made it purple underneath instead of red, you wouldn't be having this dilemma.



Honestly though, with the dresses ordered and the resistance to putting her in red or black, all I can come up with is putting her in a cream colored dress. I just still think it'll look weird having her be the only purple one in the party.
