Columbus Day 2004, should i send STD cards?

ITs all up 2 u. You dont have to send them they didnt have STD cards 10 years ago. being its clumbus day weekend I would but then again I am sending them out fr my june wedding which is not near and holiday at all.


ETA: i made STD magnets they were not that expensive and fun and fairly easy... FM me if u want to know how we did it.

My wedding is the day after yours and I'm actually not planning on sending STDs at all. I know that most people send out STDs, but frankly, I find it unnecessary. Anyone I know who is important to us will already know the date, and won't need a written reminder months or a year in advance. This is a fairly new thing to weddings, and I imagine people got married over holiday weekends in the past. If you were getting married on a major holiday weekend (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Turkey Day, etc.), then I would say maybe. However, since a lot of people don't get off on Columbus Day as a general rule, I don't think you need to send them. If you want to, sure, go ahead, but I personally don't plan on it.

i'm not getting married on a holiday weekend, but we have a lot of people who are travelling so we decided to send them. my fiance and i have a website so we included that in the STD. people are alreading posting messages on our website about how great it is. all the information we have so far for our wedding is there. we decided to send them to everyone and no one has been married in my family in quite some time and everyone loved them. we made magnets out of them so it is fun to go see that when i am at my relatives hanging on their fridge.

you may want to consider it because it is a holiday weekend. many people don't get off, but many do. i know that i make plans to go away for columbus day when i can.

Thanks girls for all your help! I am still a little torn whether or not to send them, but i guess i am better off safe than sorry! i am liking the magnet idea alot though..
