Columbus Day Weekend
Scott and I still haven't found a place to go a way that weekend. We found some places, but I can't see spending a lot of money fopr 2 or 3 nights. Any suggestions?

Danielle why doesn't Scott want to go to the Poconos?
Only 2 hour drive
Because I am not in the mood to drive there on a holiday weekend, and I know a lot of cool things happen on the east end...I want to go check out the vineyards, and on Sunday of that weekend there is a big fair in riverhead on main street.

Oh ok Scott, I was just wondering. What kind of fair in Riverhead? The vineyards are nice. What about a B&B? Sorry I don't know of any because my in-laws have a summer place that we always stay at. Too bad my DH is working that weekend.

Re: Columbus Day Weekend
I found itOctober 10th Riverhead Country Fair The 29th annual Riverhead Country Fair will take place along Main Street and the Peconic Riverfront, drawing over 5,000 visitors. ! This is a great place to be on an Autumn afternoon; stay the day; enjoy the bounties of Long Island with local foods and crafters, enjoy the petting zoo, carnival rides and see what our local merchants have in stock, too! It si a town-wide block party! For more details contact
727-1215 or visit their website at
