Column. About St. Louis.

Re: Column. About St. Louis.

I have never been to St. Louis... except for a few hours on a stop over when I was going to Hawaii. But I wanted to move there a while back. I wanted to move so badly that I looked for jobs, got real estate listings, contacted the chamber of commerce and got all manner of flyers and relocations materials.

People used to ask me WHY I wanted to live there. And I didn't have a reason.

But now.. reading your column.. I think some part of me knew that I was kind of a St. Louis girl at heart.

I am exceedingly polite. I will hold doors and thank you for every small courtesy. So often I will smile and that smile goes no further than my lips. Everything else is guarded - my eyes, my heart.

I DO give genuine smiles. And I will share my truth and my feelings... but it takes a while before you earn that.

Now I want to go to St. Louis. I don't think your piece was meant to have that effect!

Re: Column. About St. Louis.

Really? I based all my preconceived notions re: SL on the two kids in my college from SL (I went to a VERY small college). They were both uber hot (like unattainable, drool-worthy hotness), but yet super friendly (except when the one called me a whore, but we will ignore that because his roommate was to blame for that).

I envisioned a mecca of uber male hotness.

The most amazingly hot guy I met.....

was from Port Jefferson

And he was what you describe, Suz. Just from Long Island.

But I did like St. Louis - I know that I could. I was just surprised that my idea of it was blown apart on the first night. I kind of like that.

interesting. Perhaps my years of mocking the hotness of LI men was misguided.

Now I need to take time to figure out where the real men Mecca of hotness is. Wyoming? Colorado?

Colorado seems like a good bet. I like rugged.

Though I'm sort of in lust over Port Jefferson

That was what I was thinking. Rugged, outdoorsy types with cute dogs sporting a tan and some Carharts, while secretly writing poetry and pondering the mysteries of life. Totally possible.

PJ wins points simply from living in PJ. They have a Salsa Salsa (which I obsess over) and a Ralphs. I am easily pleased

No

Tan's don't like me. I look weird and alien when I am tan.

I guess my St. Louis dreams are washed away...

I neglected to mention that there girls that I saw were the night girls - during the day, I saw many non-fake women. It's my job to write about relationships, sex, blah blah.

KEEP the DREAM ALIVE.

Great article!!!!!! Now I feel better prepared for what to expect should I ever venture into Cardinal territory. But since they knocked the Mets out of the WS last year I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.
