Combo father/daughter mother/son dance?

Of course FH & I like the same song. We were thinking about asking our parents if they wouldnt mind combining the two dances but we're not sure

they might like that idea. is his mother/your father the type where they prefer not to be in the spotlight as much?

also, it's less time consuming.

Erin this is exactly what we did. DH didnt want to dedicate a whole song to his mom, plus what me and my dad were dancing to was too long,
SO: me and my dad danced for the 1st min and a half then DH came up with his mom and then the last 30 secs all the guests got invited to the dance floor. honestly was one amazing moment

FH and I will be doing a combo dance ... neither FH's mom and my dad deserve the honor of getting the alone dance ... plus it'd save a tiny bit of time

so yeah, do it

steal away. It really was awesome - suddenly seeing all these ppl fill the dance floor and me and my dad being the CP of it

We are thinking of doing this too so that people don't have to sit through two long dances with just us solo and a parent... the problem is we can't decide on a good song that is appropriate for both father/daughter and mother/son

ok great! i didnt think id get so many positive responses. i think we'll let our parents know we picked out the same song and see if they would mind dancing at the same time thanks ladies!

I love the idea and I actually wanted to do that but my mom said that 'that is you dads moment' so I never brought it up again.

i love the idea
actually at my brothers wedding, he and his wife have like 7 parents between all the remarriages, so he invited them all up and they all danced in a circle to 'teach your children well' by simon and garfunkel. it was sooo nice

I voted no, only for this exact reason. I feel like that is my dads moment and his little girl is getting married and I wouldn't want him to have to share that moment with anyone. JMO
