Come in if you wear spanx/body shapers - help with bach party dress

Sooo I tried on a dress for my bach party, and it was really sexy and body hugging (ETA: for me. I am used to hiding my curves since I was so heavy) and fit great EXCEPT it's clingy in the belly area. I've lost 40 lbs, but I def have a lot more work to do, and I have a flabby tummy. The lady in the store felt I did not need a bigger size but I felt like you could see every lump and bump on my belly (you could see my belly button indent) so I bought a size bigger, which is actually kind of too big. It looks fine, but it's not as sexy, and the top is kind of loose.

I own two body shaper things, like high bike shorts. I've never worn them since usually wearing control top stocksing bothers me, etc. But now I am thinking maybe I should go back to the store and try on the smaller size with the body shaper.

Are they really uncomfortable?

My issue with stockings is that they roll down on my since I'm short and then the part where it gets rolled up DIGS into my stomach and actually makes me sick (sorry if TMI).

Does this happen with the shapewear.

What do you think of the dress. The pic is actually the smaller size. Since it's dark you can only see a little how it clings.

The dress is SUPER cute and you look great!!!

I own a couple different type's of Spanx and will be wearing them on the wedding day.

I'm a fan of the one's that go all the way up to under your bra - helps with the rolling down thing since they don't lol.

They are annoying to have to go to the bathroom in BUT they have a pee pee hole LOL, yea, totally not kidding. So if you wanted you could wear your underwear on the outside of the Spanx and just go to the bathroom w/out pulling the spanx down, KWIM???

I've tried other brands and haven't like them - I think Spanx really smooth you out and I feel thats the main problemo you are having.

I don't think the ones I have have a pee hole! ahhh..

Maybe I will also try it with regular stockings and see. You're right I just need to be smoothed out. I don't think it's that the dress is too small.

Some shapers are unconfi as hell...
Some are good....

But i think some girls woudl wear them even if they are unconfi... 'as long as you look good'....
Thats what i used to say when I wore them....
I wear now the body shaper but its like a tank top... so its not as tight as teh other ones,... just holds my belly little..

Maybe buy the one that goes with the dresses...

Some shapewear DOES rolls
But some dont..

I own a Spanx like the one pictured below, and it is fantastic!!!! I have not been able to zip up a dress, put this baby on and then it zips up with no problem. It really smooths the tummy area out and I never had an issue with it slipping down and I don't use the piece that attaches to your bra.
I say maybe try the spanx with the smaller size. Its your bach party go for the tighter sexier fit!

I think you look really nice in the dress, you probably really don't even need the spanx w/ the smaller size!

Maybe I'll wear it and if I get un comfortable I can just take it off and by that point I'll be so drunk I won't care if i look fat. LOL. We're staying at the Borgata and partying there too so i can just go up to the room to take it off and come back

im very self conscious about my tummy i pretty much wear spanx every day except on sundays (even god took sunday off ) and you really do get used to them. my best advice to really read the package of the spanx (or whatever brand) and buy the exact size your height and weight measure up to. i know its tempting to buy a smaller spanx with the hopes that if its really tights it will suck you in more, but that opposite will happen it will give you a roll over the top and start slipping down (not a sexy look) also i recommend the spanx because liek someone else said they have a very convinent pee hole. also one more reason why bodyshapers are the best invention ever is that when you wear them with the shorts attached with skirts and dresses it eliminates chub rub!

Get the spanx hide and sleek line! I always had a problem with pranks because they were so tight they not only made me sick but they actually made my lumps and bumps show more! The hide and sleek line is more about smoothing than at is about sucking you in!

I got mind at bloomies but they have them in most department stores.
