Come see the kissing ball that I made! EDITED WITH INSTRUCTIONS!
I want to hang them from our ballroom doors. What do you think?
Someone FMed me for instructions, so I figure I would copy and paste to share them with you: Basically, I took a stryofoam ball that I got a Michael's and I made a hole all the way through with a pencil. That's about the right thickness. The ribbon I used was 1/2 in thick, which was perfect. I took the lenth that I wanted, plus about 2 inches and cut a piece that long. Then I threaded a needle with string (longer than the diameter of the foam ball) and made a few stiches at the end of the ribbon. So basically the threaded needle hung at the end of the ribbon. I dropped the thread and needle through the hole, and pulled the ribbon through. Then I cut the end of the ribbon off to free the thread and needle and repeated at the other end to make the top loop of the flowerball. After I got the loop and hanging ribbon the right lengths thatI wanted, I filled in the rest of the hole at the top and bottom of the ball with hot glue. After that, it's easy. I just glued on silk flowers with a hot glue gun all around. Since I cut the flowers from sprays, I also stuck the end of the stem into the ball, and glued around the stem and petals to ensure they stayed. I used a fair amount of glue, just to make sure everythign stayed, and since my flowers had a lot of depth to them, you can't really tell that the ball was covered in glue.

well, I think that is just what it's called. Some people have their flower girls hold them instead of baskets. I want to hang these from my ballroom doors. The doors are so pretty and castle-like, and I thought some flowers decorating them would look nice

Oh, you totally should! There's a lot you could do with either holly and berries, or icicles. Michaels has great winter-themed gift tie-ons that you can use.
