I came across this site by a knottie. I read through the site and have been really moved that I decided to start sending packages, and have talked to some of my coworkers who are also going to start doing.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post this, I knew of it already and I never thought to put it here.

For all of you ladies who can afford to /have the time to do this, please do. They appreciate it more than you'll every realize!

My FH is leaving most likely on Monday for a very hostile place. and I know the fact that people at home support him makes him feel better, wish it would do something for me, I just have to learn to live with the stomach pains and nerves, hey at least I'll lose some weight LOL, I really don't mean to make light of this or offend anyone so I hope I didn't but when your in my shoes you have to take the opportunity to smile/laugh when you can.

And to liqtny - I hope your FH returns home to you safe and soon from wherever he's being shipped.

That site is wonderful. I printed out a bunch of info and will put some thought into sending some stuff to these guys/girls this weekend.

Thanks for sharing!! My brother is in the service and is over seas right now and unfortunatly he is going to miss the biggest day of my life It really does mean alot to them to know that the people back home support them.

out FH out while he was in Iraq last year. He got packages from all of us
and he got some from a grandmother from minnesota and some first
graders. Unfortunately he never got to respond back to them because
there was a fire in his camp and he lost EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!, even his
shoes, underwear, gear, uniforms and all the packages that had been
sent to him

im getting my whole 3rd clas sinvolved. they can write letter and bring in something for each soldier. I did this last year but worked with a local 7-11 because so many people were sending things...

MUAHS you are wonderful! I think that is such a great project, they learn many skills and help our soilders at the same time. I remember doing this for dessert storm when i was in school and I received great things from my soldier pen pal, including a bandana with the map on it, only given to soldiers at that time. I still have that!

I am training to be a teacher, but for secondary classes, I hope one day I'll be able to do something worthwhile with them like you.
