I just saw Harry Potter - (I'm behind) - I thought that was good.

I saw Harry Potter too. I thought it was good. I think I like the 3rd movie better. But thats cause I have a thing for Sirius Black

This might be obscure, but Jane Smiley's 1000 Acres was turned into a movie. Despite the great cast (Michelle Pfeiffer, Jason Robards, Jessica Lange), it was a horrible adaptation.
Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy didn't do much for me in movie form, either.
But I'm looking forward to the Lion, the Witch and the Waredrobe!

Memoirs of a Geisha was such an awesome book. If you guys liked it, may I suggest the Good Earth by Pearl S Buck
