Last night my husband and I attended his cousin;s wedding in Central Jersey, and I couldn't help but compare it to ours! Ceremony? Short and sweet nuptial mass, which is what I wanted but had to respect my mother's wishes for the full Mass. Venue? Tiny space; although catering to one event at a time (unlike my lovely CHCC) the room and dancefloor resembled my living room in size. Food? Our guests are still raving about the food, and the little we had, we loved, but the food at this wedding was bland and the cocktail hour stations were limited.
I also remember how accommodating Crest Hollow was with people on special diets (vegetarian, vegan)but this place could only provide my vegan sister-in-law with broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. How could they not have rice? Their DJ...oh my...he completely skipped over the Best Man speech and then played the music so loud that one of the speakers blew. I felt bad for my cousin-in-law and her husband; I hope they didn't tip the DJ!
DH and I are ever more appreciative of our vendors! I guess we really DO do it best on LI!
