Re: Complexion issue
I can't help you with keeping your face clear, but if you are breaking out because of stress, why don't you talk to a dematologist ... maybe she can reccomend something.

Re: Complexion issue
I use Aveda creme cleanser to wash, then I use the Aveda toner in the morning and exfoliant at night. I also use Aveda face lotion.

Re: Complexion issue
I also use Proactiv and is the best thing that I've used. It keeps your skin clear if you use it twice a day. Sometimes I slack a bit but if you use religiously, you will have great skin. If you see the before pictures for Vanessa Williams, you will know that it really works if you see her skin now. The model from Victoria Secrets and Jessica Simpson also use this product. Even my dermatologist recommended. And you don't lose anything by trying. It doesn't work for you, you get your $$ back even if you finish the whole product. I used it and have been using ever since I ordered. But now since the wedding is coming up, I'm trying to use the way I'm supposed to. And also the stress can definitely do this and hormonal changes as well.

Re: Complexion issue
I just went through a bad breakout phase & this week seems good so far & I am not sure what I did to fix it, but I want to keep it this way!
I recently bought a cleanser that has salycic acid & alpha hydroxy acids- it is neutrogena, anti-wrinkle, anti-blemish cleanser. That works well, but it was too drying so I am only using it once a day & cetaphil the other times I wash my face.
I also use ice & benzoil peroxide on actual zits.
ETA- I used to use proactiv, it worked ok, but then i sort of hit a plateau, so i have extra, not sure if it is still good, I amy start usign it again. I use the benzoil peroxide from it still.( the reparing lotion)
Edited again to add the name of the cleanser.

Re: Complexion issue
I've found that cetaphil works the best. It doesn't leave my skin feeling dried out like soap can. I also find that it's really mild, and keeps my breakouts under control.

Re: Complexion issue
I highly recommend Cetaphil. Someone on here (Valentine Girl, maybe?) recommended it a few months ago, and I started using it. Great, very gentle daily cleanser. I have combination skin and my face has been neither too oily nor too dry since I started using it.
Thanks to Valentine Girl!

Me too I'm 36 and still get breakouts. I've been using it for 18 months and it IS AMAZING. Another testimonial for Proactive Solutions!
ETA: I get the whole kit by mail - cleanser, repairing solution, toner and moisturizer. It's only $40 for a 3 month supply.

Re: Complexion issue
I have been breaking out like crazy. I have been getting facials once a month, drinking more water and for the stress part Xanax. It works like a charm when I feel really stressed I also found this miracle scrub from Neutrogena. It has cleared my skin (knock on wood) unbelievably. It is called Oil-Free Acne Wash Mask Scrub. And I also use all acne and oil free make-up.
