I have a MAC desktop but everytime I have to do an assignment for school and send it electronically - it is a huge process because most other computers aren't compatable with a MAC.
I have another laptop which is a major POS, it was issued to me through St. Johns.
So since I broke my laptop I need a new one - anyone have any suggestions - I really want a MAC notebook but I'm worried about doing homework for Grad school.
Anyone can tell me anything - recommendations, or things to stay away from - I'd appreciate it!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA
I have the first one St John's ever issued.. I was the first class to have that done... and that computer was such a POS I can't even stand it... and the people in IT were retarded. Their answer for everythign was to wipe out the hard drive. Idiots.
Anyway, I love my SOny Vaio. And I really beat the shir out of my computer, I'm always dropping it and eating over it and I use it all day every day.
FH used to like Dell, but the last laptop he bought had some problems right off the bat.
Since Sony is so expensive though, if I had to do it over again I'd get the same specs I have in an HP. My dad has had an HP laptop for years and never a major problem, knock wood. Also, I have an HP netbook in addition to my Sony Laptop and it's wonderful. Love it. Stay away from cOmpaq (if they even make laptops, I dunno) they're owned by HP now but not the same.
Toshiba is awesome but ery expensive as well
And Try to get an Intel processor, not an AMD... from what i've been told my techie friends they aren't quite as good.
shop around is my best advice. Good luck.
