Concerned about makeup now...

Concerned about makeup now...

I liked my trial, it was exactly what I wanted. And the price is unreal, which is perfect for my budget.

My only problem? When I saw FH for our epics, I asked him what he thought about my makeup. He said 'It smells.' he was serious!! And he's right- it DOES smell! Must be the custom blend foundation she uses. Now I loved how it looked, and I loved the price...and FH says I don't have to change anything, he just is being honest that it's all he can smell anytime he's near me.( poor thing ). I feel really bad and don't want him to look back on our wedding and remember how icky I smelled.

So....should I go back to the drawing board and find someone else to do my makeup? I need to find another salon that does it so it can be reasonably priced. Or should I just stick with her? FH said I could...he doesn't care. But it'll be in the back of my mind and will bother me. FH isn't the type to let it bother him...but I care.

Anyone with any advice? Thanks!

what are we doing up so early???
anyhow, that is odd smelly makeup?

why dont you ask the makeup artist about that?
if you really like it and the price is right, amybeyou should stick it out.

come the day of, both you and fi's adrenaline will be so high that you prob. wont notice a thing!

i would put extra perfume on too...

Maybe it's the type of make-up, call your artist and express ur concerns, see what she says. Take it from there.

I'm always up early- I don't know how to sleep in anymore. I hope this isn't a regular thing for you too!

Maybe FH just isn't used to heavy makeup smell? Is that a typical thing for it to smell like that? I guess I never noticed it before cuz I'm wearing it and not really smelling it.

I think most foundation kind of smells, but it shoudn't be overwhelming. How bad was it?
If it wasn't totally intolerable and you loved the way it looked I would just keep everything the same. I would suggest finding another m/u artist if both of you were disgusted by the smell.

hmmm...i'd call the make up artists and run it by her and see what she says...hopefully it's something that she can change like switch one brand with another if it's a specific item that's smelly...

Hmmmm.....can you mb ask her if she has any makeup that does not have sucha strong scent? You loved her work but the smell may be a bit of an issue for you? That is kind of weird that it smelled?

Re: Concerned about makeup now...

I have to say, I'm really sensitive to smells (so much so that I can't wear perfume because it makes me dizzy after a while! - I can only wear mists like from Vickies)... and when I had my makeup done at MAC for my epics, I thought it smelled! It was annoying me and I thought I might get a little nauseous from it, but honestly I didn't even notice it after we started taking our pics.

I think it's just a 'weird' smell that we're not used to, but after you get into the swing of things on the day of the wedding, you should be fine.

Of course, it it STUNK, then I'd say something about that.

definitely talk to your makeup artist.........you don't want to be a smelly bride!!!!!!!!!

What makeup brand does she use?

oh man tara!

What kind of smell are we taking about? Just a 'makeup' smell or something stronger?

I would call the makeup artist and ask her if she has something less smelly...

Let me know what happens

maybe it's the sponge that she used?
I'd stick with the makeup artist b/c you love how she did your makeup & she is in your price range.
You could always spray a mist of purfume into the air near your face into it to mask the 'makeup smell'
