Condoms suck!!!!

I just got off the pill and we're back to condoms...they suck!!!! What other alternatives are there?

Have any of you gone through this? Does it just take some time to get used to? I guess we were spoiled, 10 years on the pill!!!

they are not ideal, but you will get use to them. we went back to them after 4 yrs on the pill

try the trojan polyurothene (sp??) condoms...(I'm allergic to latex)--they are just as effective, and there is a distinctly better feel and they are more heat sensitive, just a suggestion....
I read somewhere else on this site, about a week ago, that someone was ordering the sponge from canada....something like www.canadapharmacy.com--not sure if that's it exactly....but the sponge would be an alternative.....

I hate to be nosy, but why did you go off the pill? I also HATE condoms and hated getting off the pill to have my 2 kids-lol! I am going to stay on them until menopause-lol!

I wanted to go off the pill because i have been on them for 10 years. I want to give my body a break....i thought that it was too long to be on them.
I'm sure that down the road after we have kids i will go back on them

How about just charting, it's not foolproof but I am been off the pill since July and just used the Ovulation sticks one month then charted the others and no accidents happened.

My SIL has gotten accidently pregnant charting (not once, but twice...!)

And I know someone else who did too (and these are smart educated women!)

BE CAREFUL!!

(I just went off the pill too, and I agree, condoms are no fun)

I would check with your dr. about taking time off from the pill. I don't think you have to do that anymore with the new pills that are out there. I was on the pill for 6 years before my daughter and 4 years before my son. I plan to stay on FOREVER-lol! My dr. said I could stay on until menopause and there would be no problem.

i had to go off of the pill because i had a melanoma and the pill advances it..i hate condoms but i'd hate to get another melanoma..no bc will be good for me because of the hormones they give

Everyone has different reactions to the pill. My sister was on the pill for over 4 years. She started feeling depressed and it manifested pretty quickly into suicidal. She went to a pychologist and they just couldnt figure out what was going on. After a few sessions the doctor asked her if she was on the pill and how long. She got off the pill, started using condoms and she said within a few days her whole outlook had changed. Depression gone!! She went to her regular doctor and they said sometimes after long use it causes chemical imbalances. So be careful!!!

Just started using them too after years. The only onther non-medical solution is a diaphram but they are sooo messy and gross.

I can't stay on the pill for longer than a week or so. I gain weight like crazy, get depressed and lethargic and just don't like the feeling of being on it. So we use the above and that seems to work fine. Not so romantic or anything but much better than having to take hormones. IMO, I have enough!

There are so many different types of pills out there, it's worth trying to change. The first one I was on, I had a similar reaction as you described above, which was NOT at all like me. I changed to a different pill altogether, did not have ANY of those symptoms and have happily been on it for like 7 years or something

it takes getting used to....DH hated it too....he found condoms that had a climax control, so he'd last a bit longer....

We've always used Trojan condoms and never had a problem of course its better without one, but I will never go on the pill again I did about 5 years ago and I blew up like a balloon so I am afraid of going on anything again. I'd rather use a condom than gain any weight right now. I know ther are pills that are not supposed to make you gain but I don't want to take any chances.
