Confirmation ?

FH and I are getting married in a Catholic church (only bc he really wanted to, I was fine getting married at the Swan Club.)

I've been baptized and made my communion but I never made my confirmation - am I going to have to go through all the classes before we can get married there?

If I do FH owes me BIG time.

The Confirmation classes are not too bad... I stopped going to saturday classes for when I was young... so I was baptized and then did my first communion... so my parents asked me to go get confirmed while I was in HS.... I took the class with lots of couples lol... but they are not too bad....

My friend had this issue with her hubby when they were getting married. He was only christened and didnt make his communion or confirmation.

Anyway, the church didnt make him go to school or get the sacraments per se, but they wanted him to have an understanding of what they were about. They were pretty easy going about it.

I guess it depends on the church. Have you spoken to them about it? Im sure they could work something out. Good luck!

Yeah, one of my friends' husbands wasn't Catholic and they let them get married in a church... but some people I asked were like NOOOO you have to make your confirmation!

We're not meeting with the church for another 2 weeks so I guess I'll have to wait til then to see. Thanks!

it really depends on how strict your church and priest are, every case is different. Call your church and ask them just to be sure.

Yes, FH and I just finished our classes, we get confirmed on the 22nd of this month. TOday is actually my rehearsal, but I woke up w/a bit of a hang over, LOL. I read that some girls only did up to 3 mths the most, they got lucky, b/c FH and i have been doing classes since November, so make sure u ask how long u have to take the classes.

I have heard of alot of people doing this...... my son will have to if he gets married in a church
