Confirmation Gift??

Does anyone give savings bonds to someone making their confirmation (14 years old) or are they too old for savings bonds??

Could you possibly give a little less for the confirmation gift in the savings bond and then something else? Maybe even a check, or SimonGiftCard...Just a thought

Ok, so my cousin who is 14 and making his confirmation is not to old to receive a savings bond. I guess I was worried about the maturity date and whether it would be beneficial to him....
