Should I start confirming with vendors or wait till the week before? I don't have a DOC.

call now, at the very least they can say 'Oh I was planning to call you in a few days'
but at least if you play phone tag you have a few days.

I probably would- justs so you aren't chasing everyone down the week of. I know some are more difficult to get in touch with than others (my photog always takes a few tries to get ahold of!)
